I’m okay, and relaxing this evening despite the torrential rain. More is forecast from storm Babet. With Fridays low pressure system, that’s a day of torrential rain. For the north east of Scotland there’s a red rain warning which equals a danger to life and property with extensive flooding. Severe gales are also forecast.

Had some car trouble and took it in for some work this afternoon. It won't be ready until Monday so I'm hitching a ride with a friend to work tomorrow (I'm taking Friday off (!w!). I'm sorry you're having car trouble, and I hope riding with your friend works out. Your having to listen to someone else's crap music reminds me how I used to pick up people's discarded CDs back in the day. I made the mistake of retrieving somebody's horrid gansta rap, I think it was DCP or something. I had to do an exorcism on my stereo system after that! It isn't all bad, though. I once picked up a Nancy Wilson CD which is pretty good, and I still have it.

Rob, I hope everything is OK with you. It sounds like you're having a lot of bad weather. So, about the life threatening weather. It’s to be as serious as 2007, when huge amounts of rain came down, and flooded much of Yorkshire, which ended up with thousands of families having to live in caravans for at least a year after their homes were ruined by the flooding. At least 4 to 6 inches of rain is expected to fall today until early Saturday morning!!!
