So is the hot infectious consumerism, stocks and cryptos rally (even Spain's stock is hot) and AI irrational exuberance poised for a black (excuse my pre-woke language) ending towards the end of the decade?
Will it keep heating until, say 2026-2028/9, and then, The Meltdown?

Then, what about the jihadist threat, and the general climate of fear, distrust, hate and triggerism coming from the Middle-Eastern deserts and falling on the Western Middle-Eastern heads?

None of this is sustainable. Capitalism is a die hard force that will only yield to the breakdown of the natural world (ie. climate change). Technology will eat itself, but not before becoming useless in the face of constant and unimaginable disaster, which will surely fuel mankind's penchant for hate, fear and mistrust, creating a miasma of brutal chaos that will accelerate exponentially until the heavens fall and justice and hope become bygone relics of a civilization that gaslighted itself off a cliff.

Have a nice day!

I was not questioning Apocalypse, I was pointing to the closest global economic and political Baltimore Fall case in sight.

Be more specific and less general: we all are going to die, and the world is going to end, by eating itself up, or by the -nth coming of the -nth Jesus.

The ups and downs of our consumer driven markets always catch players off-guard by timing and severity. And it goes as usual that western societies operate as if the rest of the world is only a backdrop. Notice how, "the rest of the world" manages to makes their presence felt. It's not just the economy that's global, it's humanity.

Like I have said before, I do not think that the market will pop until it has been squeezed to the limit... until enough boomers whose assets keep fueling the market have died, there is not enough middle-class accumulated wealth to sustain the desired level of "growth" and greed... until there is not even a bubbly mirage like the dotcoms or the AI promised land led by its prophet NVIDIA... and the geostrategic balance must somehow play a role there too.
I always assumed it was a rather cold game, more automatic than dramatically visceral or insidious as in those stupid Bond or hero-saves-the-world thriller movies.

What lies beneath our property-brothers world is the current daily news from Haiti, Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan....
