Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

He really has gone off the deep end.

And Kennedy too.

If you think about it, these lunatic scions are a certainty in today's culture.

They were born to wealth and privilege, like Trump.

They failed to accomplish great things beyond their celebrity, like Trump.

They latched onto fringe "theories" about covert conspiracies and faceless hidden powers, a sort of intellectual masturbation by weak minded people to make them feel smart and less oblivious, like Trump.

They attracted an internet-based following due to name recognition. The same moronic statements are largely ignored when YouTubed by nobodies. Television catapulted them to consequential numbers, like Trump.

He's approaching old age and certain inconsequential status, like Trump.

Oh, the political oppo machine has awoken. ;)

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who built his public profile as an environmental activist and crusader against polluters, earned tens of thousands of dollars from an oil and gas rights leasing company...

Kennedy earned between $17,759 and $29,257 from Jan. 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023, from Arctic Royalty — which is a significant portion of the possible earnings from his three family trust accounts. Those accounts produced an income between about $36,000 and $97,000, according to Kennedy’s form. Arctic Royalty has been registered as a business entity in numerous states since 1985.

Overall, however, his Arctic Royalty earnings are a relatively small fraction of his overall income, which he reported at about $9 million.

When POLITICO asked about his earnings, Kennedy said he sold most of his stake in Arctic Royalty last December after his candidate financial disclosure form became public. He did not share documentation confirming the sale.

Somehow I got put on the email list for RFK Jr. It's very strange. A lot of nonsensical rants.

Apparently, he's announcing his VP pic on Tuesday.
Rumor has it, he has selected Mike Rowe, the "Dirty Jobs" guy on the Discovery Channel. But who knows?

And yet, I can't see anyone but the fringe nutters voting for him.

Dems by and large are repulsed by his conspiracy theories and anti-vax nonsense.

In reality those are the far right.

So I don't see structurally how this would help Trump.

^I just saw something this morning, saying that the Trumpsters are turning against RFK Jr., because they're starting to realize that he might hurt their Dear Leader more than Joe Biden. After they went out of their way to prop up his campaign, it seems they're starting to realize that they might have made a mistake, and are now attacking RFK Jr. with their typical viciousness.

At the end of the day, RFK will have no friends...but he probably will have more of a literal target on his back from the far right wingers than the left wing loonies.

And guess who got fired? Not for saying what she said, but instead of giving an "inaccurate job title".

In a Wednesday night post to X, Amaryllis Fox Kennedy, RFK Jr.’s campaign manager and daughter-in-law, said the campaign had fired New York-based staffer Rita Palma’s contract “for misrepresentation immediately upon seeing the longer video in which she gave an inaccurate job title and described a conversation that did not happen.”

And of course, the fired staffer turns out to be an anti-vaxxer.

Oh... this explains soooo much...

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said doctors concluded that a dark spot showing up on his brain scans was caused by a dead worm, according to a report. In a 2012 deposition given as part of divorce proceedings, the now-presidential candidate said clinicians first believed he had a tumor, but he then received a call from a NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital doctor who thought he actually had a dead parasite inside his head, according to The New York Times. Kennedy said in the deposition that the doctor thought the spot on the scan “was caused by a worm that got into my brain and ate a portion of it and then died.” He had initially consulted with neurologists after suffering memory loss and mental fogginess, according to the Times, but Kennedy now says he has recovered and is not experiencing any other aftereffects from the parasite.

I literally don't know what to say.

Has anyone heard of brain worms before?
Happens all the time in Central America and Africa. https://www.cdc.gov/parasites/cysticercosis/index.html

Also happens from poorly cooked pork but that's a parasite, not a worm. https://www.cdc.gov/parasites/trichinellosis/index.html

We don't see it as much in the US... except maybe in the deep South.

yup.

but really?

We know his Dad and Uncle had issues with foreign bodies in their brains...but RFK trying to explain away a tapeworm....I can't even even at this point.

Except in American election years...the whole thing isn't even surprising at this point.
It's kind of puzzling to me. This would be three individual neurological problems that RFK Jr is known to have.

We knew he had spasmodic dysphonia which is why he has that Katherine Hepburn voice thing. Every time he does an interview, I can't help but hear, "Norman... the looooooons".

He has also said that he had severe mercury poisoning.

Ah... for the good old days where plagiarism in college, lusting in your heart or being divorce was a political dead end. 🤷‍♂️
