I am working on a very special Italian EP with Roisin Murphy. Having worked with her on a song for the album I discovered she is a bit of an Italian-ist too—certainly capable of the drama associated with divas such as Mina or Patty Pravo! We have started with a cover version of a song that my uncle wrote for Mina in 1969. She is singing in Italian!

Róisín Murphy will be releasing her highly anticipated new album Mi Senti with The Vinyl Factory in May. Announced via the singer’s Facebook page, the album represents Murphy’s first solo material since 2012′s ‘Simulation’ and will contribute to the former Moloko member’s intense release schedule in 2014 which already has Murphy working with Freeform Five on ‘Leviathan’ which is out via Eskimo Recordings.

The track is a laid-back electronic classic, with a simple, soothing electronic beat setting the tone for Murphy's glorious vocals. It doesn't matter that we know so little Italian - the longing emotion in her voice tells us all we need to know.
The six-track EP, Mi Senti will be released on download and vinyl on 28 May 2014. The full tracklisting is below.
