Rolling Stones Concert

Just thought I would say I went to the Rolling Stones concert tonight in Regina... It was the second one added, because the first sold out so quickly ... (The other concert is Sunday)

And it was FANTASTIC .

And the opening act, 3 Days Grace, was amazing too . I like them anyway, but they were really good live.

Glad you had a good time - I am in no way a Rolling Stones fan but I got to see them a few years back whilst travelling Australia - they played in Perth and you gotta give it to these guys, even in their "late years" they put on one hell of a show.

I went to see them in Boston (the 1st show of this tour) they were fantastic

I went too- it was the best concert I've ever seen! Mick Jagger is still in great shape for being almost 65, running all over the place the entire time.

I was sitting close to the stage on the side, and was covered in ash from the fireworks close to the end. Other than that, I enjoyed every single second of the show (except for the opening band. they were sounding pretty horrible).

Well I'm just supremely happy about it... because who would expect them to come to Regina... not for one concert, but two!

What was funny though... was Mick "So, I've been told that Regina rhymes with fun"

For those that don't know... Regina actually rhymes with a certain female Genitalia (Reg-eye-na).

I loved the opening band... Although I like 3 Days Grace anyway . They sounded very good live... very nearly like they do on their albums.


Anyway, I got my t-shirt today too... a special one that they called the Roughrider office to be able to make. They asked for permission to use the Saskatchewan Roughrider "S" symbol in the shirt. The shirt came in late... but we were able to pre-order one... and woopee, I love it.

Anyway, I'm done gushing now.

I worked part time at a sports arena when they made their first visit to L.A.

Thank goodness I did not have to work that night/morning as my partner on the job loved seeing all the rock concerts.

So i worked during the day for a hockey game and stayed on to see the Stones. The event was poorly planned by the arena personnel - there was no way the arena could be ready by 8:00 p.m. after a hockey game. Finally at 9:15 they let people in. Then the fun and games really began because a second concert was scheduled for 11 p.m. anyways people waited for hours to get in - parked all over the place as there was no parking available any where. They finished around 2-3 a.m.

Well I stayed to see the Stones - actually I did get to see their brief rehearsal also, sitting a few rows from the front. When they finally appeared, I had an equally good location from which to see them up close.

I watched. I listened. And after 15 minutes, I had had enough and out the door I went. I have never regretted my actions. They were absolutely boring.

Sorry guys, but I told you in advance you had better have the rocks ready.

There were a lot of police officers around, who eventually told fans to urinate by the fences because everything was so congested. Almost impossible to reach a bathroom for fans on ground level. The planning was brutal.

I will disagree with your comment about the show however. It was great to see, but obviously will not be everyone's cup of tea.

Meh, I didn't go to the washroom or drink... my sister went to the washroom in the middle though... and she was back within 10 minutes... and I assure you she didn't pee by a fence .

However, they just kept the regular setup for rider-games didn't they? And during the grey cup it seemed to work for 50,000+ people, so they probably thought the same would work for less than 45,000. There were tonned of urinals in behind the endzone bleachers, but I doubt people went there. They probably just went to use the stadium washrooms.

No they didn't keep the regular setup, as the thousands of people sitting on the field and in the temporary bleachers weren't allowed to use stadium washrooms. By forcing everyone on the ground to enter and exit the same area where the drinks and washrooms were located, a complete standstill developed. The planners didn't know what they were doing.

One of your neighbours to the west was happy to see two sold out shows were held in Regina. From what I saw on the news it looked great.

Will the Stones ever retire? My Dad just turned 65!
