41-37 in Michigan - tight but he wins

NBC (was watching Parenthood finale) reported it

no #s for Arizona but he wins

Santorum takes a punch to the gut

^^ he thought he could win

i reported 41-37 champ - that's close on all planets ;)

and yes it's proportional while arizona is all Mitt

losing michigan hurts his fundraising and his MO - slick rick that is

Republicans in the aggregate are simply not dumb enough to nominate Santorum. They saw what happened with O'donnell and Angle and other religious fanatics in state elections. Santorum would be the same thing in a national race.

In a creepy sort of way, I am relieved. Kind of like discovering having cancer on only one testicle rather than both of them.

what about the 3rd one?

^ sorry to bother you - a forum is an exchange - sometimes good sometimes not

feel free to not read those posts u find kindergarden-esque

as for obama and the general election ...........

YOU can say the repubs have no chance (no pun intended) but that doesn't make it so

there is plenty of time - and as we get closer to the end of the primary, the crazy factor is lessened

SOOOOOOO

Obama should win - IMO, he likely will win

but NO chance?

hardly

So since Romney would be DEAD if he didnt carry Michigan the idea that he won... no matter how close... is a gut punch to Santorum. Romney is already crushing Santorum in totals and this put the finishing touches on Ricky.

Romney will be the candidate. No doubt.

Obama will stay President. No doubt.

When will somebody finally force fig Newt to throw in the towel. I'm sure he will win my state but it's not enough to help him out of the shithole he is in.

This is what I keep saying! But my father insists Santorum be the nominee because it'll guarantee a win for Obama and get Polosi back as majority leader.

I don't want Frothy Mix to even get a chance at the presidency. No, thank you.

I don't want him to get a chance, but I have been hoping he'd batter Romney. The other hope is that Romney will at some point humiliate Santorum badly enough that a whole swath of Santorum voters just decide they're not voting in the general election.

BTW, this caught me by surprise; the last poll I heard had them at 36% - 35% with about 8% undecided. Well, now we know which way the undecided jumped.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Santroum lost.

Hopefully he doesn't give up though, It is great watching him make gaffe after gaffe and expose the narrowness of the far right wing GOP vision for America.

Santorum lost some ground last week with a poor debate performance and a series of contentious comments that may have alienated moderates, from criticising universities to saying Kennedy's speech calling for absolute separation of church and state made him want to throw up.

As a desperate last ploy, Santorum authorised the use of robo-calls to urge Democrats, who are entitled to vote under the state's quirky election laws, to vote against Romney. Exit polls did show that one in 10 Democrats voted.

Obviously, with their numbers in the toilet, you'd expect Paul and the Ginge to pack their carpet bags and head on down the road, but I'll just bet that one or both of these hucksters still believe they can be the kingmaker.

Yeah, and that was even with all those democrats showing up to vote for him.

Chance1 and GiancarloC I've removed several of your posts because of interpersonal commentary. Stop addressing each other and address the topic at hand. Thank you.

I was hoping for some more frothy surging from Santorum. :(

I love it when he's in front of the camera demonizing higher education, declaring there's no separation of church and state, claiming things he heard wanted to make him throw up and calling the leader of the free world a snob.

Where are we going to get that kind of crazy when he finally goes away?

Romney will stumble over a lot of things but his handlers insist he can't go unscripted anymore and he has to use teleprompters. Are the republicans pundits going to make fun of him for doing that?

Newt's in a funny position.

he'll never admit he can't win and his financial backer -- Sheldon Addelson -- hates Santorum and does not want him to be President.

as long as the nomination is up in the air and Gingrich can split the "extremely conservative" vote to deny Santorum some Southern victories (or at least make him work for them), I expect he'll keep funding Gingrich.

So Newt's now just a tool? Yay.

Newt's always been a tool.

I don't think Santorum is going anywhere anytime soon, and when he and Newt split the South, the doomsayers of Romney's downfall will start anew. LOL what a choice for the Bible belt - a Catholic in thrall to the Great Satan in Rome, or a Mormon who's not even a Christian!

Watched the returns on MSNBC - they're really pushing the Romney = robot thing. Yeah he's kinda passionless and drab, but I can think of better things to crucify him for.

Their take on Santorum was that yeah, NO ONE EXPECTS, the Spanish Inquisition, but at least he believes! Some one put him in the COMFY CHAIR!!!!!!

I hear ya on the Al Sharpton thing. Take heart, they fired Buchanan, they fired Olberman, can Al be far behind? Plus I really like Rachel.

I don't really like Santorum, but it sometimes smells like MSNBC is giving him a pass for now with the "he believes," thingy in order to damage Romney.

Can't prove it, but definitely SUSPECT!.

Ahh the modern world of partisan infotainment....

Just heard an interview with Alan Simpson, (R. Wyoming) an honorable Republican. He was relating his impression of Santorum when they were both in the Senate. Mr. Simpson described Santorum's "look of zealotry in his eyes" he had all the time. He illustrated this impression with the Martin Sheen character in The Dead Zone. (The one running for the U.S. Senate who used a baby as a human shield in order to save his own ass from gunshots. I was astonished that a Republican would speak of Mr. Santorum that way. By the way, there is no way Alan Simpson would "qualify" for today's RNC.
