On Mittens first trip abroad as the Republican nominee, he opened his mouth and disgraced himself and the country. First, he insulted the Brits by criticizing their handling of Olympic preparations. At a rally for the opening of the Olympics, the Mayor of London (a Conservative I believe) mocked Romney and led the crowd in chants of "yes we can."

I hope we he has an audience with the Queen he doesn't ask her if the biscuits come from 7-11. What an idiot. Didn't we have enough national embarrassment when Bush was president?

You'd expect a GOP candidate to get along with British Conservatives, but no, Romney manages to piss them off. Prime Minister David Cameron felt insulted and stated it is probably easier to host Olympics "in the middle of nowhere" (AKA Park City, UT). As for London mayor Boris Johnson, he is not only a Tory, but he was born and bred in the USA!

Not a good start to the trip for Mittens - his comments to Brian Williams were dead on but best kept to himself

The Brits are nervous as a young child flew w/o a ticket raising concerns about airline security

And athletes on a bus took 5 hours to get to the Olympic village due to traffic

and security personnel shortages (i thought the economy was bad?) were staggering

Boris the floppy haired mayor has lots of his own issues besides London being ill equipped to handle these Olympics - like the investigation that he had an inappropriate meeting with Rupert Murdoch around the hacking scandal but I digress

Back to Mittens - you'd think he'd fit right in with the stuffy Brits

perhaps they should tape his mouth shut or just fly him home NOW

he's making them miss Barack Obama who's done everything in his power to date to ignore the Brits - I guess being ignored is better than this

Harry Reid should shut his face though - his Nevada cronyism and no budget in the Senate since ...... ever ...... well he should just shut up or cut the droopy dog routine

but in his first candidate trip overseas you'd think he'd have his shit together

the biggest prob for him is that this creates noise OVER his "you didn't build that" which was gaining big time traction with people who see clearly now that BO is doing his all to curry favor only with the "have nots" or rather "have lesses"

In Poland they should hire a well known band like barrack did in Germany 2008 and beef up his attendance numbers. However, mittens doesn't have the backing of the MSM for them to ignore that the band was offering a free concert and the people came for the free concert and not the anointed one.

In the end tho -- major goof for mittens -- always compliment your friend's ugly house or kid.

One of the reasons Mittens doesn't connect with voters is that he is socially inept and prone to saying inappropriate things. His brain lacks the filter most people have that prevents them from saying things that, whether true or not, would be insulting to others.

I have a lot of problems with Romney. his anti gay stance (at least today) his flip flopping (actually flipped in one sentence about the boy scouts, That was painful to watch!) his stance on women's rights, his hidden $$. But really, distancing himself from his wife's horse, what kind of ass does that? Oh right, a horse's ass. The woman had been talking about how horseback riding helps her deal with MS & the jerk she married, thinking it would remove the image of Zillionaire, tries to make us believe he's nott watching. He really is dreadful (more) when he goes off script. Perhaps as someone said maybe he's socially inept. Hard to believe though...a person can't usually go to the tip with social skills that bad. For a guy who is relatively handsome, has a pleasant voice (horrible delivery), and is fairly articulate, he still manages to lack that IT factor that I can't describe. Someone earlier reference GW Bush and his inability to go off script. That was true. People misspeak, but this was just boneheaded. I normally wouldn't care about these kinds of accidents (accident because he didn't mean to offend), but I think this is newsworthy for two reasons: 1) he can't connect to people because he's insensitive and 2) he's had such a choreographed, almost scripted, campaign and then, boom, he does the Ugly Baby insult overseas.

Wait til they start asking him the hard stuff and calling his bluff on Romneycare and his support of an assault guns provision.
