Ron Paul Loves The Gays ;)

^ You are too kind by half.

The era in which he was born does not excuse his prejudices or the fact that he is an unpleasant and mean spirited person. The fact that he has not grown as a person when it comes to his own areas of intolerance is a perfect reflection of his limited and simplistic views of how the world works and what America's place is in it.

Everyone always say that they admire his honesty and that he has some good ideas. This has been the hallmark of all tyrants, dictators and demagogues for centuries.

He is not honest.

Most of his ideas are not only absurd, but unworkable in a global economy.

Stick with him and most of the US would be living in a slum outside the gates of the fortified community of thieves and oligarchs.

The man is an idiot.

And frankly, I'm glad that he's at the end of his shelf life.

On homosexuality being a sin...
"...I think everybody is God's child, so I have a problem with that."

BTW Kent Snyder was an openly gay man who was Ron Paul's campaign chairman for the '08 presidential election. Kent Snyder is the man who convinced Ron Paul to run for president again in '08.

The government shouldn't be involved in marriage? Can some people open their eyes a bit... it just doesn't work that way. Since when was marriage a religious institution? The Federal government is and will be involved whether you like it or not. This country and its laws are covered by the Constitution, not the Articles of Confederation (which I suspect Ron Paul is confusing with the Constitution).

And Paul's economic views will do nothing to help the worker... he's nothing but a loon with loony ideas about the economy. I have a bit of advice for him... go into retirement in Palm Springs, enjoy your later years and tell your family to stay out of politics. Rand Paul is an even bigger nutcase.

No, the government shouldn't be involved in marriage, or at least in regulating it.

I have a new proposition, one meant to drive the fundies screaming from the field: we should not only get rid of the word "marriage" from government, but tos there's no chance of confusing what the government protects with any religious thing, we'll call it...

a "boxed set".

This expresses that the individuals belong together and are a good match. It is also properly irreverent toward the notion there's anything sacred about it.

Instead of saying, "We're getting married", people could say, "We're hopping into the box", or, more briefly, "We're hopping the box". Justices of the Peace would say, "I now pronounce you a boxed set". Religious folks could, of course, pronounce people anything they want, but only boxed sets would count for the government.

This would lead to new terms of affection, some quite appropriate to today's U.S. society, like "He's my sweet padding".

People with open relationships would, of course, be seen as thinking outside the box.
