In Toronto on the alternative radio station 102.1 The EDGE they are always playing this song human and the singer has soulful voice. One day I just decided to google the song and I was stunned to find out the singer is a white British guy. The voice is amazing so soulful I have to admit I immediately thought the singer was a black American guy. The singer stage name is Ragnbones man. The real name of the singer is Rory Graham and he is a six foot five giant. You do not usually see male singers who not pretty boys with a voice like this. I think he definitely is going to be a breakthrough new star in 2017. The song human is already a huge hit in Europe topping the charts in Germany and the song did well in Switzerland and the UK as well. It will be interesting to see if the record company will bother promoting the singer album when it drops next month? But I definitely see this guy being huge in Europe for sure. link:

There's several guys who have a similar style of blues vocal that are popular. Last year, Nathaniel Rateliff had a song that got lots of radio play in the US. After a decade of singers who can't sing, it's a welcome change.

Love that guy! Partner's mother introduced me to him when they were visiting in an attempt to fill a bit of an awkward conversational void.

And may I recommend

Check out Mayer Hawthorne - first album, the rest is shit - and James Vincent McMorrow.

When it comes to women, I always think of Janis Joplin and Amy Winehouse.

50 years, 100 years, a 1,000 years and counting . . .

The Universe of Music would not be the same without the men of Great Britain.

Great voice. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

That "Human" song is god awfully boring and has no groove. Sorry.

I'm not saying he's not talented, he is. The song is just shitty.

Y'all went from shitty vocal contemporary R&B to folk roots blues. Ugh. Sidetracking so much.

Not that anyone cares, but this ugly white guy has been doing R&B for way longer than that. But it still has an alternative rock theme to it which is nice.

As we see...music taste is also apparently quite subjective.

I am not sure I would have assumed he was black...but I wouldn't have assumed he wasn't either....I don't love it but it's OK...

I remember when alot of people thought Boz Scaggs was black.....he charted on the R&B charts as well...before and after they knew.

I knew he wasn't black but I didn't see why it mattered one way or the other anyway...except I think it is a compliment....

....same with Bobby Caldwell....people assumed he was black alot...

I love that song! But I never expected him to be black. Nor white, really. I didn't think of his colour at all.

wuh?.......................

... The voice is amazing so soulful I have to admit I immediately thought the singer was a black...

Did you think similar thoughts while listening to this person?
