Rosetta Stone Totale - language program with an online compontent

I think the issue was with the program itself. It would be a fine program at about a third to a quarter of the price (half at the most) but as it is you just don't get enough useful vocabulary to carry on meaningful conversations, which I think are the key to being comfortable enough to use the language, which is why you bought the program in the first place in all likelihood.

I would consider using the program for French again, if I had a job and would consider it for other languages if I was working. Once you know it in one language, the other ones would come easier, I think.

As far as I know the program is similar among languages with some differences amongst different language groups. For example, I think the Asian language programs are different from the Romance language (French, Spanish, Italian, etc.) ones.

I really like that it doesn't use any English, but I think that's more the OCD in me than anything else, lol. I would probably recommend Fluenz for Manadarin, Italian, French, and Spanish. They have some English, but also seem to start you out with practical things.

I read in one of your posts that you have hearing problems, Thynight, so I would probably try to do an immersion in one of the countries where one of the languages you want to speak is spoken.

^Thanks.

Also I'm still playing around with www.livemocha.com. It's hard but I am getting it slowly. I need to pick up a pair of good headphones though. I have a really hard time hearing the slight differences in words.
