Roy Moore

I don't believe this to be the case.

Interestingly, Opinterph recently talked about the intent behind this type of restriction in a thread Taralen made:

And I can see why the mods believe that you need this restriction because there is evidence that you don't have a full understanding of the Code of Conduct. Meaning you're liable to unintentionally break the rules.

For example, you stated that we're not allowed to talk about different cultures here on the forum. To which Opinterph explained that this isn't a true statement and clarified.

There are plenty of conservatives on this forum that are not under this restriction. Your viewpoint itself, as far as the evidence leads me to believe, is not the issue.

I think there's room for you to improve how you interact with the people on this forum. Your communication skills seem to be lacking because if you are trying to engage with others in good faith it's clearly not coming across based on the hostility I see in reaction to you.

I also feel there's a big issue of you pushing misinformation. For example, you responded almost indignantly to Kallipolis about Obama's supposed 'Muslim sympathies' then linked to a Snopes article that ostensibly supports your refutation but when you read the full article it shows that the quote is a fragment of hateful things Obama is expressing the future does not belong to. (That thread seems like a great study resource because it shows the building frustration of your peers because they're not seeing what you're trying to convey as a part of the discussion.)

I've also seen you tell people questioning their bisexuality to watch lesbian porn and if that doesn't work for them they're probably gay. Which I'm rather doubtful of as a metric of sexuality considering how lesbian porn is among the most searched terms by women. And as a bisexual I find the suggestion that if lesbian porn doesn't turn a dude on that they likely aren't bi very harmful.

Please consider changing your approach, taking a little more time to read over articles, and try working with the mods so that they feel comfortable taking you off of restriction. Perhaps we could meet you halfway in this thread about misperceptions we suspect others have about us.

I value freedom of speech very highly. I recall Obam’s Hateful comment that the future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. He does not recognize that we have every right to criticize or slander Mohamed , who led armies and slaughtered innocent people by the hundreds.
You may not like my suggestion about watching lesbian and gay porn as a test for some one confused and wondering about his orientation, but it was a constructive suggestion which you were free to disagree with or improve upon. You criticism of me for making the suggestion is unwarranted and rejected.

last we saw of Roy

LOL! Thank you! :)

Q The French government has decided to temporarily close their embassies and schools in several Muslim countries after a satirical weekly, Charlie Hebdo, that published cartoons mocking the Prophet Muhammad. Is the White House concerned that those cartoons might further fan the flames in the region?

MR. CARNEY: Well, we are aware that a French magazine published cartoons featuring a figure resembling the Prophet Muhammad, and obviously, we have questions about the judgment of publishing something like this. We know that these images will be deeply offensive to many and have the potential to be inflammatory. But we’ve spoken repeatedly about the importance of upholding the freedom of expression that is enshrined in our Constitution.

In other words, we don’t question the right of something like this to be published; we just question the judgment behind the decision to publish it. And I think that that’s our view about the video that was produced in this country and has caused so much offense in the Muslim world.

Now, it has to be said, and I’ll say it again, that no matter how offensive something like this is, it is not in any way justification for violence -- not in any way justification for violence. Now, we have been staying in close touch with the French government as well as other governments around the world, and we appreciate the statements of support by French government officials over the past week, denouncing the violence against Americans and our diplomatic missions overseas.

… it was a constructive suggestion which you were free to disagree with or improve upon.

Looks like SeaCore expressed disagreement with your suggestion.

I find the suggestion … very harmful.

You criticism of me for making the suggestion is unwarranted and rejected.

Where did SeaCore criticize you for making the suggestion?

To get back to the topic at hand instead of the grandstanding by Ben, what particularly was illuminating... and in a very sad way, was the racial/gender breakdown of the Moore/ Jones vote... 74% of white males voting went with Moore, 65 per cent of white women as well went for Moore while only 32% went with Jones, comprising nearly 70% of the vote. 97% of black women and 92% of black males went with Jones overwhelmingly over Moore...without the intense turnout of the black vote, and their near unanimity for Jones... the unthinkable would have happened and the rehabilitation and emerge of a national force in Roy Moore was so close even with all his moral hypocrisy. We really dodged one here and it was no thanks to whites...even white women who should have moved away in droves didn't come nearly to that point. Got almost two thirds of the white women...let that sink in. And white guys in Alabama certainly don't speak well for themselves going 3 out of 4 for Moore... there was no Nirvana here except for a black vote who just could not take Moore and voted Alabama away from truly sinking America further into the abyss.

I certainly did not grandstand. Gsdz and fabulusyghetto suggested I was avoiding comment. and I point out that my posts are delayed by the censors. The White guys of Alabama voted logically. Moore's sex 30 years ago should have been way down the list of the most important issues. It was certainly not a good reason to cause another 2 or 4 years of gridlock.

I blame a combination of fundamentalism and trying to gain favor/power from the men in their lives instead of as a voting block. It's infuriating.

....mind you, evangelical beliefs on abortion seems to be the linchpin on which white women voted for Moore. But 3/4 of his voters were older than 45.

I just keep muttering "Death & Taxes" to myself.

That and the fact that anything (note that I did not say 'anyone') is better than a - *gulp* - Democrat, even someone who would like to date their daughters.

The abortion thing is a justification for a whole bunch of things, fact is if they didn't have that, they'd have found some other issue to excuse his behavior, or like a bunch of them did, just say it's all lies.

or like a bunch of them did, just say it's all lies.

That's it right there, isn't it? How many times have we heard that as an excuse here when defending Trump or any of his cronies who do the unspeakable.

They have a full-proof plan. Until it's proven, it's lies. If/when it's proven, it's inconsequential or a distraction from the REAL issues.

Well, the predictable has happened and instead of leaving the results to Jesus, Roy Moore is taking it to court and with Fox News' eager help, trying to push a narrative of massive voter fraud... of course to rabid right wing Republicans like Moore and his supporters, ONLY liberal Democrats can play dirty, they're of course martyrs for their faith in a country gone to hell with liberal ideas and values. Fuck them.

He won't be able to force his Talibangelicalism on the rest of us. Bad enough that Mike Pence is probably privately cheering for an impeachment so he can do this himself.

There was a belt of "blue counties" crossing the entire state which went through Montgomery, east to west. Except for Birmingham, Mobile, and Huntsville, it was almost all red north and south of this belt.

Would somebody please remind him that it was God's will to part the "red sea" of counties which otherwise dominated the state?

Voter fraud. It's a common theme, and I bet my bottom dollar that we'll be hearing it a lot more in the future.

If one looks at a map of the U.S., it would be very easy to use a pair of scissors and cut Alabama out of the U.S. and just let it and its blissfully ignorant population float away into the Gulf of Mexico to do as they please. What a disgrace!
