Russian Invasion of Ukraine

Meanwhile, rrrZZZia is levelling Vovchansk in Kharkiv...but not making much headway in their assault.

I love symmetry.

AS rrrXXzia announced the completion and launching of two new Korvette ships this week...Ukraine sunk one of their Black Sea minesweepers. And remember, Ukraine has no Navy.

Good, but it's worth noting that the U.S. suffered terrible strike in the Gulf from terrorists who had no navy.

We are long past the point in history in which a navy is needed to sink a ship.

Russian channels report that today an ATACMS missile attack was reportedly carried out on Project 22800 Karakurt class “Tsiklon” in the port of Sevastopol. As a result of the strike, the ship reportedly sunk and 6 servicemen were killed and 11 more were injured.

As a result of the most recent attacks, Rzzzia has apparently withdrawn all ships for ports in occupied Crimea.

Another day...more meat bags.

Due to clarified information, on the night of May 19, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed the Russian Project 22800 missile ship "Cyclone" in Sevastopol, - General Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine reports. A missile carrier is a better prize than a lot of the other ships.

Too bad that rrrZZia seems to be getting the message that Sevastopol is not where they want to be keeping their ships.

At least a hint of common sense:

In response to the ongoing debate whether the US should lift restrictions on US weapons being used inside Russia, US House Speaker Mike Johnson said that "Ukraine should be allowed to prosecute the war in a way they see fit. They need to be able to fight back and us trying to micro manage that effort is not a good policy."

💥Ukraine destroyed the entire jet fuel storage facility at Russia's Belbek airbase in occupied Crimea. Capacity was reportedly 450,000 liters. The adjacent building housing fuel trucks also destroyed, incapacitating any near-term operations from this base.

I saw this....impressive.

It must have been quite a sight and sound.

Ukraine must retreive Crimea or make it unusable by rrrZZZia for anything connected with military activities.

We need the Kerch bridge shattered into pieces beyond repair.

Leave one lane on the Kerch bridge so when there's nothing militarily useful there any more the Russians can walk home.

Also leave the rail bridge complete enough for repairs, then hit it again when there's a train of military supplies crossing it. It would be amusing to get Russia scared to use it .

No. The bridge must go entirely. RRzzzia still has a land bridge from Donetsk through to Crimea that they intend to keep and it is increasingly clear that the west is not going to make Putin give that up.

The best we can hope for now is that Ukraine can regain control of the western portion of the country and can effectively isolate Crimea.

Ukraine indicate that they have stopped the rrrZZZian offensive in Kharkiv and now conducting counter-offensive measures to clean up the remaining Mobik forces.

The next assault may come at the Sumy direction in the northeast.

Probably only one more day until the magic 500K.

Do we know how many of those casualties were light enough that the soldiers returned to combat? I encountered a claim that nine-tenths of Russian casualties go back to the front lines, which sounds fishy to me.

In their campaign to destroy the City of Kharkiv if they cannot take the region, the Kremlin once again targets civilians.

Meanwhile the west still refuses to give Ukraine the weapons it needs to strike the military centres within rrrZZZia.

I thought I heard on the 'tube' that weapons were supplied that can strike on the order of five hundred kilometers into Russia and approval was given for using them against (purely) military targets.

The US has not given this approval and Germany refuses to provide long range weapons.

I think that Crimea and Donetsk/Luhansk occupied 'Rzzzn' territories are included in the strike zone for western supplied missiles...but that is it.
