1. You made a statement, A.
2. You were told it was false.
3. You cited a statement, B, claiming it supported your A.
4. It was shown that B does not in fact support A, thus your claim that A is true is false.
5. You quoted B again to say your A was true.
6. Since you had been shown that B does not support A, your re-quote constitutes a lie.
Thus you have not even enough honesty to stick to your own words. It's not a matter of you not grasping something, or misrepresenting, it's that you lack the character to even own what you yourself have said.

Then you try to deflect from the topic by once again trying to change it -- demonstrating an even deeper lack of character.
