This made me feel bad cus I have drunk while buzzed before. I won't do it anymore, especially since it could cost me my job also.

alcohol is like cigarette.
Both should be banned from advertising.

I have drunk while buzzed before

and are you drinking now ? cuz I think you were trying to say
drove while buzzed

now you can just text while driving - you can take out as many or more people texting as drinking.
extra points for driving and texting with a 7 pound dog on your lap -- this guarantees total loss of control of the car.

I was hit, and nearly killed by a drunk driver. Fortunately, I was driving a German luxury automobile at the time, which is probably the only reason I'm alive today. However, you can play connect the dot with my scars. My right knee, left ankle, and multiple vertebrae have been rebuilt with titanium pieces parts, not to mention the score of titanium screws and plates in fixing my arm, and lower leg.

My healthcare bill by the time it was all said and done with over a course of 2 years was nearly $450,000.

I was t-boned at a red light, on a Sunday afternoon by a drunk who had been watching his football team at the bar.

I have been told personal stories about being affected by drunk drivers, 50% I later found out to be lies. A very low number of people in this country are actually killed by drunk drivers.

A big majority of road deaths are due to bad conditions and distracted drivers, not intoxicated driving. A big majority of drunk driving deaths are the drunk driver, followed in frequency by their passengers, and finally innocent others. At about 500 a year, many more people are killed by lightning strikes.

I hear you but I always thought the majority of times a drunk was in a multiple car accident they lived more then others involved who were killed or severely injured.
A couple weeks a ago a drug & drunk wasted 20 yr old slammed into some tourist killing a man and his 3 sons but the drunk guy and his wasted passenger lived.
In my stupid ass days I was wasted driving home on a country road and hit a ditch rolling my brand new vehicle not wearing a seat belt. I woke up on the roof and should have broke my back I was like rubber I guess. Not even hurt. Had I been sober likely my reflexes would have tightened and serious injury would have occurred.
One other example (of many) I hit a guy once who was wasted and jumped in front of my vehicle thinking I was his friends coming to pick him up. I was doing about 35 or 40 mph. He was bombed and hit my windshield then went over the roof landing in the street behind my car. He broke his arm and was scuffed up but man he should have been dead. He knocked the radiator off its mount and did a lot of damage to my vehicle. Had he been sober I think he would have been killed.

Don't be fooled by statistics. Even if the percentage is small, it is nevertheless still a huge number. Even 1% represents a huge deal of number from the total population.

hence the importance of avoiding drunk driving and also practicing safe driving for our own sake.

ONE person, killed by a drunk driver is ONE too many !! do you think that's exaggerating ...

We're going to be hearing the very same arguments about texting - while driving --

I only looked down for a second --
I didn't see the kids walking in the road -- whatever - still DEAD !!

i'm for MANDATORY prison sentences for DRUNK or "distracted" drivers>

Now, some idiots conducting "surveys" won't even say ACCIDENTS or - Accidents which cause fatalities - they and toned it down to -- "Safety critical event" - WTF? It's like they're making a joke about it - jsut say - - You're gonna kill somebody - and (hopefully) yourself) !!

When really drunk you can get delusional and even think you're fit for a drive. Heavy drinking is best done at night in one's own home.

I understand the statistics are probably inaccurate, as are most statistics but drunk driving is still a problem regardless of how often it happens or how many people die from it.

So the possibility of losing your job is the deal breaking for drink driving? Not disabling, forever disfiguring, maiming or killing yourself or others, but the fact you could loos your job is the especial reason for not drink driving?

Drink drivings like wearing the condom. AID's isn't worth the extra pleasure you get during sex and the convenience of driving home from the pub or club isn't worth the life time of knowing you killed someone or your crippling injury. The reason why it gets such coverage and distortion is because its such an easy thing to avoid; just don't drive while drunk! However it continues happening, somehow they have to get it through the extreme thickness of peoples skulls, for the sake of the children!

Talking about children, in England it isn't just drink driving thats been giving advertising, but also just keeping to the speed limit.

The ex-Plymouth Argyle keeper Luke McCormick also did a video demonstrating the dangers of driving while on the phone through goalkeeping. A few months later he killed two children in a car accident while drink driving.

^ Does the reason you don't drink and drive really matter?

I mean any reason will do...

Both losing my career and killing someone would be a reason.
