saddest song you ever heard?

Travelin' Soldier-Dixie Chicks
Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. Good call. It's very sad.

Also "You Were Mine" by the Dixie Chicks.

"These are the Days of Our Lives" by Queen - resleased just after Fred died.....

two songs by barbra streisand: "some good things never last" and "with one more look at you". the latter one is makes me cry though.

I would say for me it has to be Memories from Andrew Lloyd Weber.

"Midnight, not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory?
She is smiling alone
In the lamplight the withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan

Memory, all alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days
I was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

Every street lamp seems to beat
A fatalistic warning
Someone mutters and a street lamp gutters
And soon it will be morning

Daylight, I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I mustn't give in
When the dawn comes tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin

Burnt out ends of smoky days
The stale cold smell of morning
The street lamp dies, another night is over
Another day is dawning

Touch me, it's so easy to leave me
All alone with the memory
Of my days in the sun
If you touch me, you'll understand what happiness is
Look, a new day has begun"

Especially this part...

"Daylight, I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I mustn't give in
When the dawn comes tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin

Burnt out ends of smoky days
The stale cold smell of morning
The street lamp dies, another night is over
Another day is dawning"

The reason is that my mother died on A Sunday morning just as the sun was rising.

Yes I remember that. They mentioned it while they were sniffing glue and talking about the guy's gay brother.

As usual your music picks are always amazing.

Bjork - Scatterheart
Ani difranco - Sorry I am
Fiona Apple - Never is a Promise
PJ Harvey - Is that all there is

May it be with Enya.. Cant count all the times i cried to that song.

Carnival Town with Norah Jones always gets me in a sad mood;

Round 'n round
Carousel
Has got you under it's spell
Moving so fast...but
Going nowhere

Up 'n down
Ferris wheel
Tell me how does it feel
To be so high...
Looking down here

Is it lonely?
Lonely
Lonely

Did the clown
Make you smile
He was only your fool for a while
Now he's gone back home
And left you wandering there

Is it lonely?
Lonely
Lonely

Norah Jones gives me the chills everytime I hear her.

if by Bread

and there is this country song, im not a big country song fan but at the time of my life that this song came out, it really got to me. I think it might be Alen Jackson. it was so sad and about him loosing the person he loved and at the same time was happy for them having someone new, because the person he loved happyness was more improtant than his, it really got to me, because someone that loves you that much, wow, I have loved that much and just dream that someday someone will love me that way.

Family Portrait - Pink
My immortal - Evanescence
and enya's songs

The Carnival is Over - The Seekers
Lullaby in Blue - Bette Midler!!!!

I can't remember the name of the song. It's country and i thought the name was "wait'n on joe" but i can't find it via goolge. It makes me cry every time i hear it. so i have to turn it now.

it's about a guy and his brother who is always late for contrustion jobs. And he's made cause his brother is late again. But he hears sirens soon and turns out joe ran a rail road crossing to try and be on time but is hit and killed.

There's this one song called "Best I Can" by the Chris Perez Band. This one really breaks my heart. Chris Perez was the husband of Tejano music star, Selena. For those who don't know, she was shot to death by the president of her fan club. Chris was the guitarist in her band, Los Dinos. "Best I Can" was written about his deceased wife.

When I thought I had your heart to keep forever.
(Forever)
Now I live with how it is, nothing lasts, never.
(Never)
I'm never in a place with too much time, try to leave my troubles far behind.
Everything I did, I did for you.
Now there's nothing left for me to do.
I'm never gonna fall in love again, the way I love you.

You know it's so damn hard letting go...

Standing here, holding my heart in my hands
Yes, I am...
Trying to live every day the best I can.
You know it's so damn hard letting go...of you.

Every day's a brand new start of a pain never ending.
(Never ending)
I can't erase this lonely heart that keeps on remembering.
(Remembering)
Every day I live, I live with you, and with all the things we'll never do.
Heaven holds a place for souls like mine.
Try to leave my troubled past behind.

You know it's so damn hard letting go...

Standing here, holding my heart in my hands
Yes, I am...
Trying to live every day the best I can.
You know it's so damn hard letting go (so damn hard letting go)
You know it's so damn hard letting go...of you.

You can see the video and hear the song for yourself...
