Saddest Songs

i think Styrofoam Plates by Death Cab For Cutie is the saddest song ever written. and the fact that Ben Gibbard (the songwriter) didn't think it was particularly sad makes it even more so.

The Predatory Wasp of The Palisades is out to get us - Sufjan Stevens
Romulus - Sufjan Stevens
Springfield - Sufjan Stevens
Pittsfield - Sufjan Stevens

All of these are perspectives on real or imagined childhood events.......beautifully told but so sad.

The Show Must Go On - Queen
Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley
Dust In The Wind - Kansas
Love Hurts - Nazareth
Bad Dream - Keane

Have to agree with DCunitedJimmy about Elton John's "The Last Song". Also, Whitney Houston's "All At Once". But the saddest lyrics I've ever heard are in the Carpenters' "Goodbye To Love".

These Are The Days of our Lives- Queen

Truly Sad Song in the sense it was Freddie Mdercurys last Recorded Appearence.

'Vincent' by Don McClean always makes me want to cry (when he kills himself)

'Miss You' by The Feeling nearly gets me there too...

Check out 'I hope there's Someone' by Anthony & the Johnsons - gulp!!

The two saddest songs I know are:
"Breakdown" by Mariah Carey
"Rainin' You" by Brad Paisley

Peabo Bryson - If Ever You're In My Arms Again
Taylor Dayne - Love Will Lead You Back

(Good Riddance) Time Of Your Life-Green Day
Jumper-Third Eyed Blind
Who Wants To Live Forever-Queen
When I Get Where I'm Going-Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton
I Wonder-Kelly Pickler

Motion picture soundtrack — Radiohead
