I know some will not agree with me but I think wearing your jeans almost at the top of your thighs (ie. sagging) is the worst style that ever happened.

Yeah its nice to see a guys hot butt in briefs but thats it is stupid. At least we know they have to wear clean briefs.

I'd much rather look st Seghers than saggers, myself. :)

I find the style rather silly as well, but no sillier than (say) women who wear short dresses and stiletto heels during ice and snow storms. In fact, iI find them equally silly for the same reason - when fashion intrudes on basic practicality. But hey - wear what you want, people.

I don't like it, but I am not necessarily against it. People should dress however they wish, just don't plan on me being attracted to you or dressing similarly. In my mind, sagging your pants is a sign of immaturity and it brings my mind back to high school... which I hated.

I'm not really a fan of saggers, but, sometimes...

i think it's stupid and somebody attracting attention to themselves. leave it alone.

Everyone should have their own individual style. As Coco Chanel said - "Fashion Fades, Only Style Remains" . . . . Therefore, everyone should have their own personal style with which they select and wear clothes. However...there are universal crimes against fashion and style...and intentionally sagging pants are included in those crimes.

Jus' Sayin'.

^So you agree with everyone having their own style, yet dissuade someone for having a certain one because it doesn't fit your world view of fashion, or the one of fashion at large?

Just say you don't like it, don't hide behind intricate fallacies.

^I would agree. However....everything has it's ten commandments. White/Labor Day, Sagging pants, etc are simply not fashionable or stylish and anyone who has a good understanding of the topic would tell you this. If you asked Anna Wintour if intentionally sagging pants were against the laws of fashion...I guarantee she would say yes.

And i'm sure Anna whoever, queen of all things right, would have something to say about my biker chains and metal shirts, or my affinity to destroy something "trendy" and make a hesher outfit out of it.

The only opinion that matters is mine, and possibly Joan Rivers. And since i'm not a celeb or a street walker, I don't have to deal with the Gestapo der Fashion. Who, I love, because I live to laugh.

So again, don't hide behind fallacies. Just say you don't like it. Or do like the other few threads did on this trend and say it's "a black thing" that derived from monkeys. In which you get to tell us again that you're Egyptian or whatever.

In short, do as you will, so long as you follow these mandates. You know those mandates didn't used tobe there, right? Maybe in 100 years, they'll laugh that we once wore out pants over our asses. Things change. And tgey change not because the gods of fashion dictate it, but because people are brave enough not to give a rat's ass about those mandates.

^@MouthofChaos Actually....that would be mixed...Egyptian and Scottish. Don't leave my dad out of it :)

Anna Wintour has more say in fashion than Joan Rivers ever will. She's the Editor-in-Chief of American Vogue. I...people who no nothing about fashion have heard of Anna. I....I can't.

As far as it being "a black thing" I would certainly say it was a trend started by African-Americans. However, it seems to have gone global and has spread to many different ethnic communities. However, it's not my place to say weather that's a good or a bad thing. So I'll shut up.

Bottom line: I don't like it, I wish it would stop, and it looks tacky and banji in my opinion.

When overweight or too skinny men do it... DISGUSTING

When average/well built guys do it... HOT!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the sagger look from prison, indicating that you are looking to "get some?"

Or so I was told....

So if true, that would be really stupid to walk around in public like that. Then again, there are a few I wouldn't mind "giving it" to.

So what's the real origin of this?

I love saggers i think its hott. Its hott when guys wear tight boxers on and sag their pants.

Funny story:

Once, all those years ago, I was with a friend and we were walking to her flat after we had been grocery shopping and a random, stranger came over to me and said: "excuse me, can I ask you something? I'm very curious.." and I, a bit puzzled said, "sure". "Why exactly do you, and your generation wear your pants like that?" and then he went on to talk about how it affects your health in a bad way. He was a chiropractor or something, and had had many guys in who had suffered from various things after wearing their pants like that..
In the end, when he finally was finished, I assured him that I didn't wear my pant in that way on purpose, but that I have simply forgotten my belt at home.

But yeah, I have to agree, I don't find it particularly flattering either. Still, to each man his own. I'm not here to tell people what to wear and what not to wear.

I don't know how accurate this is, but I recall hearing that the look DID originate from prison. But not because it meant they were "looking to get some", but because one of the first things they do to you when you get to prison is to take your belt, thus causing your pants to sag once you move into the prison proper. Of course, if you're spending any sort of time there, they'll issue you prison gear, and I rarely see guys walking around in bright orange or navy outfits - so take that story with an entire container of Morton's.
