Not only is she working on a new release, she's producing DEVO. Interesting.

Santigold has revealed that she is producing new material by DEVO.

The singer, real name Santi White, didn't reveal how the two parties hooked up but said that the collaboration was "amazing".

Speaking of the studio sessions, Santigold told Paste Magazine: "They’re just, like, my band idols. Them and The Smiths. But DEVO, I made them pull out the red hats and pose for a picture."

She also that she's itching to start working on her own new material, her debut album having come out nearly two years ago.

She's currently featured on the David Byrne/Fat Boy Slim collaboration Here Lies Love.

On Byrne's website, you can now stream or register to download one of the tracks from the LP, the Santigold team-up "Please Don't".

About the track, Byrne writes, "I think Santi did a perfect version of this song, which describes, pretty much in her own words, Imelda Marcos' adventures in what she called 'handbag diplomacy'." I will admit to severe trepidation regarding Here Lies Love, Mr. Byrne's star-studded full-album tribute to Imelda Marcos (preorder here; $35 for the deluxe package), but this first tune/video, sung by Santigold and consisting entirely of vintage footage of Imelda dancing with various world leaders, is heartening in its oddly buoyant oddness.
