Warning!

This video is in favor of Barack Obama!

It has foul language!

It has what many Democrats would consider "humor"!

It plays off of stereotypes!

If you didn't like the other "humor/satire" piece I posted, just pass this on by...or, hijack this thread and say how awful the video is :grrr: and how it will keep Obama from winning and, you know, stuff like that. But  the video will be at the TOP of the thread, and your posts will be BELOW the video, so anyone who comes to this thread will watch the video BEFORE they read your posts and realize how they shouldn't watch this terrible, terrible, evil, despicable, unfunny - wait, don't you WANT people to watch this, if you think it will keep them from voting for Obama??... Anyway, Let Me just say...take it away, my Republican friends!!(*8*)

It's hillarious. Loved it.

not funny,
i stopped watching after 20 seconds.

She's terribly unfunny to me. Even if this helps Obama, there are other ways of furthering the cause than doing it this way.

A black friend forwarded this to me. Talk about awkward.

I'm glad it's not just me. I'm sorry, but for some reason I just can't get behind Silverman. I just never feel comfortable with where she's coming from when her humor even when it's well intended like in this spot. It's funny how someone like Chris Rock can walk a similar line and have you laughing with him.

To each their own though. I know there are people who love her.

Not offensive, not funny, just boring.

Being black, or jewish or gay just isn't much funnier than being a Presbyterian anymore.

Because Sarah is inappropriate. Like the vagina joke she made about Britney Spears. Was that really needed on MTV where kids are watching?

A little bit of Chris Rock's sketches are based in truth. Sarah just wants to "shock and awe". It doesn't help that her voice is very nasal either.

She's just like Jack Black to me. She makes fun of Jewish people with stereotypes and her goal is to be obnoxious. Jack Black keeps playing the fat guy who has a goal too of being as obnoxious as possible. Black keeps doing the "laugh at the smelly, sweaty, fat guy" routine. It wasn't funny the first time nor the 1,000th time.

They need a new shtick.

You know...you are absolutely right. Rock's humor is distinguished by it's dangerous incisiveness. That is the striking difference. She just seems meanspirited and tacky. That and her voice grates.

As for Jack Black...ugh! 'nuff said. :##:

This was the first time I'd seen her, and I can understand why so many people find it either "not funny" or "discomfort humor" - but I like that kind of humor (as well as the easier-to-take kind), and hugely enjoy movies by people like Mike Leigh (not the movies that are most famous over here, but earlier stuff like Abigail's Party, High Hopes, Bleak Moments) and Nicole Holofcener (Lovely & Amazing, Walking and Talking) - stuff that makes you cringe and squirm while you're laughing. Anyway, one doesn't have to choose a single type of humor - I like Sarah Silverman (this video anyway), Nicole Holofcener, Bob Hope, Don Rickles, Lucille Ball...but I know that humor is about the most individualistic taste we can have, and you can't argue someone into laughing! (Although I do kind of like the theory that if someone doesn't laugh, you just keep telling the joke or showing the movie until they do....)

The label "Discomfort humor" is very appropriate.

My thing about comedy is that you shouldn't need to offend to get attention or to be funny.

That's the sign, to me, of a bad comedian (or comedienne for the feminists here).

Just like cursing every other word is indicative of a limited vocabulary.
