Sardine sandwich?

Used to love them, until I got a bad can. Spent 6 days with my bum on the toilet and my head over the sink and unable to eat. :sick: Food poisoning is no fun. After almost 50 years, still can't stand the sight of them. :eek:
 
I love sardines, by themselves, over rice, on a sandwich. Really love the ones in tomato sauce, and have no problem eating the bones, they are very high in calcium,, YUMMO
 
i love most all kinds of tinned fish - sardines, mackrel, smoked oysters -

but my favorite is fish steaks in louisiana hot sauce .... OMG ... good

and i really like the bones ... of course i eat chicken bones .... love ... love the cartilage and marrow ... and i'll tear up a good steak bone or soup bone ... nothing left for the dogs when i'm done eating ... lol
 
I used to love the damned things when I was a kid, but then one night in college I took a good, long look at them while I was in a, um, altered state let's say... And I could never go near them again.:eek:
 
Sardines/Mackerel - yum-0 !!
sometimes a sandwich - is good - with mayo/onions and lots and lots of lettuce.
but also good just "cubbed" up over rice - also with sliced raw onion and some soy sauce. !! dump some creamed corn on top - for "gravy" -- awesome !!

This is the most disgusting rendition of food I have seen in awhile and I love it! :=D:
 
Take a piece of bread and spread mustard (Gray Poupon of some variety) on the bread. Add sardines. Top with a slice of swiss cheese. Put it open face under the broiler for a few minutes to melt the cheese. Absolutely wonderful.

I followed this recipe, and it was so good!!

I added a bit of garlic powder
 
Love sardines, great source of omega 3's. Like them with WW bread or in a salad. I usually get the ones in hot sauce or water.
