This is difficult news to process. I much admired the man.
 
How sad :( I'm so grateful for the fun games he helped make. I wish there were more like him in the video game industry.
 
I didn't even know he was ill. Bile duct cancer is rare but it must have taken him pretty fast. I recall the last I heard of him when he announced the release of Pokemon X and Y. Who will take his position now? RIP.

He was operated on in June of last year to remove a growth in the bile duct.

However, long-term prognosis for this type of cancer is, in the main, about five years at most.

I'm still choked about his passing.
