Scammer doesn't know he's talking to an on-duty cop

Attempted scamming in this case.

So you would kill someone because of an attempt at something illegal, say, a robbery.

A crime for a crime.

I am not even talking of proportionality, just that you could be making a [wannabe] scammer pass for the victim. Like the shooting of a trespasser, in this case a trespasser of... whatever is pissed by the wannabe scammer.

You must be one of those who never bought that weasely Hollywood movie morals of "that would turn you into him"... You should always let someone else perform the unclean dirty job, like they do in John Wayne movies... someone like me. Or,better, expect them to be so stupid that they end up killing themselves... in this case, that they turn themselves in... somehow.

I usually just tell them though that (I) am dead. That the person they wish to speak to was killed in an accident or died of cancer a month or so ago.

i run a scam group on facebook we share funny or really stupid scams in the group.

Facebook scams has been so bad over the last few years and they are always in every group with scams. I had to leave so many local sale pages because they would flood the group with scams and random videos or porn. They love to post lost or injured dogs with a bogus story and when people share the post they edit the post to a rental ad. Its amazing how many people fall for it.

The scammers english is so bad.

I was not comparing name-calling to murder, I was comparing bigger crime against lesser crime and bigger crime against lesser crime.

Using profanity in public is not protected speech, and is subject to local standards as has been adjudicated all the way to the U. S. Supreme Court.

You can be sure that if you raise a billboard that uses profanity or obsenity, you will be slapped with charges, and it will be removed.

The use of the same in private settings is purely up to the hosts or owners. Anyone objecting to being exposed to such language has the option of leaving.

You can be a rapper, a drag performer, a stand-up comedian, or presidential candidate, and say just about anything in the world in a private venue.

All that said, the thread is clearly derailed, which has been the pattern when GSDX is targeted as he has been here. That's also legal, but not honorable.

I thought we were just discussing and eventually derailing as usual and, if anything, the target would be the usual suspect.
But if someone likes to play paranoid victimization and random criminalization, it may be legal, but not honorable, let alone intelligent.
