Sleep is a period of rejuvination. I look forward to sleep because I'll be in a much better mood when I wake up...not to mention more alert in learning, observing, decision making, etc.

I also love to take cat naps during the day whenever I can...especially when I'm driving long distance by myself. I would exit and pull into a parking lot to sleep for 15 to 30 minutes. Then I'm good to drive for another 4 hrs.

Sleep deprivation makes me grouchy.

"There is nothing to fear but fear itself." No, I don't share your depressive view on sleep. Sorry *shrug*

I sometimes get all wacky and get scared "what of I don't wake up" then i get over it by praying and listening to relaxing music

Sleep is a waste of time. We literally sleep away 33% of our lives. There's plenty of time to sleep when you're dead!

loves me some sleep.
If I don't get enough then I'm prone to worrying about things which aren't going to happen, like spontaneously dying in my sleep.

I figure I put my body and mind through enough stress everyday (be it work, exercise, play) that it deserves the rest. I'm grateful that my brain doesn't completely shut off during sleep, that I'll likely hear the smoke detector, or (in future) a baby crying. Dreaming definitely helps me sort out all the crap going on in my life, and even for that alone I would not give up sleep.

Sleep is complex and is a small price to pay for the rejuvenation of our entire body and mind. 33% is a worthwhile investment, I'd say.

I wish I could sleep.... second night in a row without... =/

I'am afraid to sleep because we're gonna be unconscious when we do that, right?

No, sleep is a very complex state....no I think process is a better word. We don´t fully understand what realy happens when you sleep, but your brain is quite active and very fast processing, far from a state of unconsciousness.

Take a dream: It feels like a long time, sometimes like a 2-3 hours film with complex plot, but in fact it is about 3-5 seconds long and u have dozens of it every night.

What I think about sleep is a miniature/imitation of death, a daily ritual that we are doing every single day to remind us that Every..living creature ..must die

Lol....no.

Sleep is not a imitation of death, it is a refreshing process that keeps you young, healthy and smart. Without sleep you get dumb, weak and finally ill. Forced deprivation of sleep is a common tactic in interogation, even considered a torture if done over days.

For me, there is not many feelings better than coming back from a job or some days in the mountains, taking a shower and falling into the bed. This is heaven itself, without those stupid angels and their plingpling-music.

and get scared "what of I don't wake up"

Simpel: You find out what happens after death in a very comfortable and easy way. I saw a lot of people in agony who would have envied you for that.

As a wise man once said: Dont worry about death, its easy. Just make sure you live your life, thats far more complicate.

People are so afraid of death. They don't realise that they were dead for billions and billions of years before they were alive.

It didn't seem to bother them so much back then.

33% sounds like a lot, but I'd rather spend it sleeping than working. Whatever percentage work is is what's really frightening.

Agreed. Spend more time working than anything else.
Why am I not a millionaire playboy already, or at least layabout man candy for a multi-millionaire?
Takers anyone?

Only time I was afraid to sleep was when my "sleep paralysis" was acting out >.< but other than that I love to sleep!!

Everyone has to remember with death comes acceptance, of course you don't have a choice but I believe you suddenly feel at peace, and free! Maybe death is better than life? Even if theres no life after death, we wouldnt have the conscious of our existence even though that hard to imagine

People are less afraid ot death itself, it is the uncertain they fear.

Of course that is simplistic, but it is the main point of it.

As Sokrates said: Perhaps death is the best thing that will ever happen to you, you don´t know, and because you don´t know it is unlogical to fear it.

So "Death" is just the word for this uncertain thing nobody knows about.

If you've got a phobia of sleep then consider going to a psychologist for therapy. Sleep is an incredibly important phase of any day, without which you will die ( I believe 14 days is around when most people die from lack of sleep). And not because sleep is rejuvenating, our brains have higher activity in many areas during sleep.

I fucking love sleeping! I punch out about 8 hours a night and would happily sleep longer were it not for my obligations: study, work, posting shit on the internet, eating Tim Tams etc.
