The number one priority should be accountability. There has to be a "clearing house", an organization whose accountability is beyond question to handle the money. Since corruption is rampant among the government AND police, money given to them would never reach the intended victims. And if the money went DIRECTLY to the intended victims, it would be immediately stolen from them by the thugs that rule the neighborhoods. Any money given these ways is absolutely a waste of money.

You realize that there aren't any "neighborhoods" left, right?

What an imbecile statement

It made sense to me.

Haiti currently HAS NON WORKING GOVERNMENT, HEALTH, POLICE, ANYTHING.... EVERYTHING HAS COME CRASHING DOWN WITH THIS EARTHQUAKE.

Haiti has had a non-functioning government for decades. But what's wrong with accountability? How about a UN mediated distribution of aide?

The world powers have the moral obligation to step in, and if the US doesn´t do it, then their enemies would surely like to.

Obama is doing the noble thing.

It's what the US does. We rarely get credit, but it's what we do. It's not a Democrat, Republican thing to do. It's not an Obama thing. It's a US thing.
And why does every foreign policy decision need to be broken down to US vs. its enemies. Who are our "enemies" other than Islamic terrorists? They're gonna aide Haiti? I don't think so. And even if they do, Haiti would be their Vietnam
