Exactly a year on the heels of his last album, "System", Seal will unveil another new project Nov. 11 via Warner Bros. "Soul," as its name indicates, features the artist covering 11 vintage soul numbers with production from David Foster.

Among the material features is Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come," Otis Redding's "I've Been Loving You Too Long" and Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes' "If You Don't Know Me by Now."

"Someone once said, 'The album will sound like the time you had making it.' Never before has it been as true as in the process of recording this record," says Seal.

Here is the song list for "Soul":

"A Change Is Gonna Come"
"I Can't Stand The Rain"
"It's A Man's Man's Man's World"
"Knock on Wood"
"I've Been Loving You Too Long"
"Here I Am (Come And Take Me)"
"If You Don't Know Me By Now"
"It's Alright"
"I'm Still in Love With You"
"Free"
"People Get Ready"

Re: Seal covers vintage soul tracks on his new alb

Seal has a beautiful set of pipes and I'm a huge fan of his earlier work. An album of classic soul covers sounds like a winner. He should knock this one out of the park.

Re: Seal covers vintage soul tracks on his new alb

Oh dear, it worries me when artists resign themselves to the 'cover album' end of their careers.

I glanced past your post quickly and thought it said he has a beautiful set of nipples. I agree that his pipes are nice, but I would've agreed more with the "nice set of nipples."

And legs, have you seen those tree trunks? NOTHING is sexier to me than a nice set of thick legs.

I know right! Actually I've always thought he was a sexy guy (particularly once he started shaving his head. He is so classy in interviews and just has this smooth way of carrying himself. And LOL at thinking I was saying "nice set of nipples". :-)

Me too, I really liked that album that had "Love Divine" on it, that song puts me in a mood.

I know what you mean. That's a baby making song.

This reeks of "hurry and fulfill contractual numbers of albums". Seeing as how Warner barely lifted a finger to support System last year (and shelving Togetherland), I doubt it's in his best interest to continue with that label. For having Stuart Price's tired and repeated production, System was a really good album that deserved more than 2 singles with shitty promotion and bad videos.

I didn't even know seal still made music. I love that song from Batman Forever :)

I liked his early work, Crazy is a fav of mine, but covers scare me, or have you forgotten how he butchered a Steve Miller song a few years ago?

Butchered "Fly like an eagle"?

I think he made an excellent version. I even liked it more than the original!!!
