I don't think Sean is making these guys let their body hair grow out. In case you haven't noticed, body hair is back. I was in Banana Republic yesterday and there was a poster in their window and inside the men's section of a bare chested dark haired guy with a very hairy chest. All styles and fads come and go, and the totally smooth look was "in" for a long time. I don't think Danny or any other model would look any less hot if he had hair on his chest. A handsome, hot guy is hot no matter what.

I for one love body hair on a guy and wished everyone would let theirs grow out, but to each his own.

sean mentions in several of the write-ups that he asks the guys to grow their hair out. then suddenly you see those guys get hairier and hairier. he's pretty much said it to every guy on the site at some point. guys that start out hairy always mentions that he loves their hair. and many of the smooth guys have been asked by sean to grow out their hair. it seems like he would prefer every guy to be hairy as hell.a little hair on the lower leg is fine but i just don't like hair that much. it feels scratchy itchy to rub your body against body hair, especially ass hair. eww

If you think most of the new guys on Sean Cody are hairy, I'm not sure if you have ever really seen a hairy man in your life. Having a little patch of pubic hair and maybe some leg hair and a faint trail does not qualify a man as being hairy.

All men are naturally different, that's why I like it when men leave their body hair alone or at the most trim it slightly. If a guy is naturally smooth, or have just a little bit of hair, that is fine and nothing to be ashamed of. It is who they are. If a guy is hairy, that is also nothing to be ashamed of and he shouldn't have to feel that he needs to shave.

I'm not trying to tell you what should turn you on or what should attract you. I'm just saying advertising media have been pushing 100% shaved down as THE standard for male attractiveness for a number of years now, and lots of guys have bought into that. Now, the trend seems to be changing and you can see guys who are really hairy in ads and movies. People should think for themselves and not slavishly follow whatever the media/fashion industry happens to be proclaiming.
 
I like a little hair in the right places, but not too much. Even when a guy doesn't naturally have hair on his arms, legs or chest, he still has pubes. I've recently become attracted to redheads after years of not liking them. Boy was I excited to see Nelson last week, but when you got to his crotch, no pubes. I wanted to see red hair.
 
I love Billy. His body is so perfectly proportioned and I think he is hot both with and w/out the body hair; however, the hair on his head is now atrocious. I am thinking that the color was perhaps not the intended result of his salon visit. That copper tone is often the product of a screwed up color job. It has actually happened to me on occasion, and can be due to a variety of mistakes on the part of the hairdresser. I don't really understand why he felt the need to do anything with it at all; it was a very becoming color the way it was naturally.

I don't think any of us really know why particular models are smooth, some are hairy, and some go back and forth. I remember reading on some porn site how guys sometimes show up for a try-out with some body hair, then when they get a call to make a video, they assume they should be shaved down so go ahead and shave everything and then show up that way, to the disappointment of the porn producer who liked their natural look.

I made my comments because by no stretch of the imagination can anyone say most of the models on Sean Cody are hairy these days. Smooth chested models far outnumber the models with chest hair.

Perhaps we have different definitions of "hairy". But if a guy has a smooth torso, I don't think he can be described as hairy.

And yes, being smooth IS a trend. When I was young, (1970's and 1980's) men for the most part did not shave ANY part of their bodies unless it was for their sport. Body shaving was limited to some guys in the gay community (I did not know this at the time, but you learn the darndest things on the internet) It really entered the mainstream when Calvin Klein started to massively advertise his underwear using smooth, provocatively posed models. This was a huge change, as any guy old enough to remember can tell you. Prior to this, you had Jim Palmer sitting in his underwear advertising Jockey. Underwear simply was not a fashion product. The other designers/advertsing people followed this, and completely smooth male models were all over the place. Soon, you NEVER saw any male model with chest hair. Guy who were fashion conscious began to shave, then after a while the mainstream straight guy started doing it. Straight guys in the '70s or early 80's would never shave their body hair, as that would be way gay.

I'm not trying to tell you what you should like. I am just saying very few guys(white guys at least) are naturally totally smooth. To achieve the smooth look, they have to remove something that they naturally have, and this has been a big change in men's behavior.
 
I personally like Billy's new look. I like his overall dark hair and complexion, and if a guy can grow hair on his body than all the better.
If it's natural then don't change for the sake of those like their guys totally smooth. And if a guy can't grow hair then that's what's natural for him.

Then you'd prefer that all the guys on SC have full beards as well? After all, that's what's "natural."

You're entitled to your preference, but don't try to play the "natural" card. It doesn't go where you want to go.
 
Natural could also apply to women. They 'naturally' have hair in certain places but shave legs, pits, crotch, etc. I know where Shotglass is coming from though and I tend to say the same thing.

Like TongueTied, I too am a product of the 70s/80s and as he said, men didn't normally shave unless it was a sports thing. So when I see all these guys shaving everything, I can't help thinking girly or pre-puberty. It's taken some getting used to but times and trends do change. However, I still like a guy with hairy legs and a bit of chest hair. And pubes. It's what I was used to during my sleeping around years. Trimmed is okay and looks better.
