i'm a member in this forum for a few years now and i decided to make this post since this is a worldwide forum and it might help in some way.

well i always was a person very interested in getting to know people from other countries. in the small town i live even though it's a place where many tourists visit every year i didn't have the chance to become friends and get to know someone from another country. i used to have a pen pal when i was about 12 and we chatted for many years and he'd also visit my town every summer. he was English and i was so happy being his friend as it helped me practice my English and i learned so many things about his country. he also invited me to his house in England and it was so much fun. after all i realized he just wanted to fuck my sister but that's another story. we don't talk now.

i always wanted to have an American friend or a Swedish friend or an Australian friend. Spanish people are nice too but very few are able to speak English. I always wanted an African-American friend too. are there any sites i could find pen pals, i don't even know if a ''pen pal' is still what it's called, anyway a ''chat friend'' from another country?

are here any willing members who'd like to chat?

I guess it would help if you gave your own nationality and said something about your interests.

A bunch of us are really friendly here. You can always request to be their friends and send them private messages by going to their profile pages.

My best advice is to actually go to a country of interest instead of trying to do things over the net. But looking at your post again you mention you would like to have a chat buddy so perhaps the screen will do. As long as you don't have any expectations then it's fine. The difficulties of long distance relationships are many and complex and there are probably some extensive threads out there on this subject on this site and in other forums. Not for the faint of heart and the conclusion must be that the chances of anything durable are remote.

Your post isn't heavy on specifics so I can't be more specific in my response.

But I think you can search this site by member location and come up with a list of those in Australia. Or go to the language forums better yet and interact there. You can use Google translate of course to help you post some messages in the target language.

It's best to form those relationships organically, I've found. You have a huge pool here to draw from. Just start chatting, find some people you click with, and maybe post a visitor message or two.
