Sec. Powell Infers Republicans Are Afraid of Party Leader Limbaugh

As long as Rush Limbaugh remains a focal point, that is great for the Dems. I know Olbermann routinely refers to him as "Boss Limbaugh". The sad thing is that it appears that he is correct with that assessment. It's a shame that Republicans are terrified of Limbaugh, and are allowing Limbaugh to dictate the agenda.

My 2 cents

Rush is an entertainer - a well paid one - seems to have people who love him and many more who hate him - bully for him

if he impacts policy one iota ................ i would be shocked

other than his discussing values/ideas/positions

but in terms of his position having any real oooomph

i say no way

as for colin powell

i just don't think he has any right to even speak about what the republicans need or should do or anything like that

i mean he can

but he has no cred

he's not the brightest bulb IMO

he coulda been a contender ;)

But chance1, Colin Powell is a registered Republican! He served his nation in many capacities and often under a REPUBLICAN president.

You, OTOH, are NOT a registered Republican, you're *COUGH* registered DEMOCRAT (or so you so-called "say"), isn't that right?

Seems to me you don't care for Powell and don't think he should speak out BECAUSE YOU DISAGREE WITH WHAT HE SAID! You stand with Rush (must be a crowded platform, dontchaknow)! You agree with Rush!

Sad, so sad -- a gay man, siding with a freak of nature like Pills Limbaugh! [-X

some people say that Rush hates America -- that he wants america to FAIL! He wants America to LOSE BOTH WARS! But you agree with Rush. Look, Im not questioning your patriotism, but I DO QUESTION YOUR JUDGMENT! [-X

shouldn't u be studying for ur drivers test? ;)

that parallel park is a killer dontchaknow

by backing obama over mccain - at a time when it was a foregone conclusion - so IMO he was not brave about that at all - he is not a republican

i think colin powell is an honorable man who perhaps was in over his head in the cabinet - at a minimum he did not handle the situation well - perhaps he was duped - but we are all responsible for our actions and it seems to me he tried to weasel out of his part, blaming others

as for standing with rush i do not and never have [-X

show me where i have

this is the part where u will bring up something else i imagine

u throw linguini against the wall and it sticks for like what .......... a little bit and then it slides down

then u do it again

and again

go do something useful will ya?

like practice your left turns

This whole thread is something of a joke, given that Rush isn't the leader of anything, and certainly not the Republican Party.

As for Powell, he has proven himself to be a certified RINO.

Sadly there are no parties today that one can wholeheartedly admire.

Powell was correct with what he said about Rush Limbaugh. Most Republicans are afraid to stand up to Rush Limbaugh, and it is doing serious damage to the Republican Party.

I was happy that Powell endorsed Obama. However, I have little respect for Powell. He disgraced himself with his service in the Bush administration. He used the prestige and respect he had from the rest of the world to go to the UN to sell the Iraq war, using ginned up, false intelligence fed him by the most corrupt administration in my lifetime. He was present when administration officials approved of torture (I'm sorry, enhanced interrogation techniques). If he had a shred of integrity, he would have resigned when he discovered that he was fed false intelligence and that the administration intended to torture prisoners. He has no credibility with me.

Really? Sounds like right wing propaganda.

Just because the Republican Party is rightly loathed for the damage they have done and want to do to the nation doesn't mean the Democrats are them same. Indeed, a Wall St. Journal/NBC News poll from just last month also found: "25 percent hold a favorable view of the Republican Party, which is an all-time low for it in the poll." By contrast, "45 percent hold a favorable view of the Democratic Party."

That isn't clear cut Alfie. Read the poll. The reason why there's such a big difference is because 29% say that they have a neutral view of Republicans (e.g. no opinion), while only 16% say the same about democrats. From the poll, it is clear that Americans aren't quite sure what to make of what's left of the republicans, but they have a firm opinion of the democrats.

In that same poll Nancy Pelosi and Limbaugh have nearly identical popularity numbers, and Dick Cheney clobbers both of them.

In other words, this poll is all over the map.

Rush Limbaugh is the messiah of the GOP today. You dare not cross him or speak ill of Rush. Just as the RNC chariman who ended up kissing the hand of Rush.

None of those numbers constitute hearty endorsements. They are, in fact, rather luke warm.

Uh, WHAT? Hello, Karl Rove, don't try to spin me m'kay?

45% have a favorable view of the Democratic Party.
25% have a favorable view of the Republican Party

The Dems have an 80% higher rating than the Pugs. Neutrality is not an endoresement -- it's not a vote in favor. Indifference is not support. Christ, don't you think people can discern fact from spin? [-X

As to Pelosi, Cheney and Limbaugh, please that's apples and oranges. Let's compare, you know, elected leaders in the House:

House Minority Leader Republican John Boehner

15% approval
62% unfavorable

Speaker Nany Pelosi (Democrat)

29% favorable
47% unfavorable

So here again we have the Democrat nearly TWICE as popular as the Republican, and with the Republican having 25% HIGHER unfavorable ratings.

Glad to clear that up for ya!

By that same token Alfie, it does not indicate disapproval either.

And I say again; Pelosi's approval ratings are currently lower than Dick Cheney's, a man that you people did everything you could to turn into a villain. That says something about how people view the people in charge of congressional democrats.

45% have a favorable view of the Democratic Party.
25% have a favorable view of the Republican Party

The unseen statistic that screams out loud TO ME, is that nearly one-third have a favorable view of NEITHER Party!!

And that assumes that there were NO RESPONDERS who were favorable toward BOTH of the Parties.

45% does show lopsided support, but only in comparison to the Republican approval percentage. This percentage of support is still rather tepid.

dear general i mean admiral

still waiting for ur response to my post above #10 that is

u showing me and fellow JUBBERs my affinity for Mr. Limbaugh

i know ur studying for ur drivers test but please try and back up what u alleged

thanks

My, the 'Then 'Tha Tiv'ity of the extremist right! Calm down, hon, calm down -- don't jump, don't jump (well, unless you insist -- I won't try to talk you down)! What's the matter? So, you HATE IT when a liberal calls you out on your shit -- you know, you guys always dismiss reputable news media as "librual media" when you don't like the news they deliver. Can't take your own medicine, I see. Sad. So very, very sad.

Fact is, so-called "Rasmussen" has long been considered a shill for the GOP. Now before you say how "accurate" his polling is on election day I encourage you to look a this polling the weeks and months PRIOR to the election. He only aligns his numbers towards the end of the election cycle, so as not to show his thumb weighing on the scale for Republicans. Now if you have reason to question the NYT polling data, please, let it rip. Otherwise, give it a rest, dontchaknow.

I wouldn't wipe my ass with the NYT's polls. They're barely worth the paper they're printed on. Meanwhile, take a look at Rasmussen. They're easily the most accurate, and predicted with 92% accuracy the latest election. Hardly a right-wing pollster.

Chrrrrrrrrrrrrist, I thought you were, you know, not so dense. Sad. So very, very sad.

Its a nice conspiracy theory, but not grounded in any sort of reality.

You might want to check your keyboard – it appears that the letter “r” may be sticking. How does your “Listen and repeat” iteration lead you to conclude that Christ is dense?
