Great, you want to arrest a twelve year old boy.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

(That my guess who started the poll).

Macbre maybe but I wander what the verdict was of the 700? I would hope it is a resounding NO but I really wouldnt be surprised if the answer was yes

I hope they get them.

It was literally about one minute after Obama became President Elect that I heard my first death wishes for him. This shit needs to stop.

Did the Secret Service arrest him or her after you reported it?

Is he/she still in jail?

How much time did he/she get?

Why would I report it?

I was in a convenience store and it came over the radio. He flipped then left. The closest USSS office is in Portland. What good would it do? There is a difference with one nut in a store and a few hundred voting online. They came together, he just went off. The best I could say was some old white guy said he should be shot. That doesn’t really narrow it down much.

But now that I said I didn’t call, lay into me. You know that was the entire point of you bringing it up.

Also why would they tell me if the guy went to jail or when he got out? Am I important?

It's about time the Secret Service takes these threats seriously. Death threats towards anyone aren't funny, clever or legal. Now they have to get after those who are inciting violence towards the President. Soft unstable minds are easily manipulated by those inciting ill will towards the President.

You think they don't take them seriously?

Obviously they take them seriously enough that they found this poll before many people had voted.

It used to be the case that the Secret Service investigated every single death threat to whoever was president at the time. Aren't they still doing that? I read somewhere that Obama gets 30,000 threats per year.

I remember when I was a kid reading about another kid who sent in a threat as a joke. The Secret Service came to his school and pulled him right out of class to question him. They'd found him by tracing the paper he wrote it on. You can bet he was scared shitless.

Death threats are a fact of life for people in public office (or the public eye). They should always be treated seriously and condemned. There's a big difference between wishing someone dead and making a death threat, however, so no need to get hysterical vanman.

What is disturbing is that the number of death threats Obama has received is so much higher than any other president. Keep in mind, the last (and only) time we had a non-white, male protestant president, he was assassinated.

Where was your outrage when Elizabeth Hasselbeck received death threats?.....

But that probably wasn't about her politics. I mean have you seen The View?!

Death threats about anyone is not good. We take death treats to our president very serious in the US.

I do have to say I was very disappointed that many laughed and made fun of the death threats against former President Bush. There were even a play out - The Assassination of the President - I believe it was in Canada.

Obama is the President of the United States - he deserves respect in that office -- no matter what I think about him or his policies.

They try. But with the internet, threats are numerous and easy to make.
This is one reason that the SS has been expanding rapidly -- so many threats to check on.

Its first year, it was great. Then they started playing musical chairs... :grrr:

In case your still able to read this.Where was your outrage when George Bush got death threats?Where was your outrage when Dick Cheney was gleefully wished death, when he entered the hospital?Where was your outrage when Gov.Palin was wished dead? Where was your outrage when Elizabeth Hasselbeck received death threats? And so on......

If the secret service wants to investigate death wishes and hate, they might want to start with JUBS own CE&P threads that are hateful against Republicans......
You didn't post the thread.

I hope they get them all....and I hope they get the people that instigate and rile up this shit.

Yes, they should, but probably won't. Hate and prejudice is everywhere in this world and America is neither a leader in it nor an exception. Finding the origin and dealing with the instigators would be a good and proper thing.
