Secretary of State Hillary.

That will be the end of her political career. If Obama's presidency tanks and she Sec. Of State she won't be able to separate herself form him. Then after the term her Senate seat will most likely be taken by another Democrat so thus she'll be gone form Washington for ever.

She had so much potential too

I agree with you there. If Obama's administration does not go well in the next 4 years and she were to be his SOS she would not be able to pull of a primary victory. She would be too involved in the administration to become her own candidate again. Just like the rumors of Condi Rice being McCain's running mate were shot down quickly when pundits said it was too close to the Bush administration. However, if he offers her the job, she has to take it.

The Huffington Post is reporting that Obama offered Clinton the job of Secretary of State, I do not know how true this is as mainstream media is only saying she is being considered for the job.

If she is offered the job she may take it, she doesn't really have any seniority in the senate she is only a junior senator and she is not leading any of the main issues like health care, that belongs to senator Kennedy and senator Dodd would be next inline after Kennedy to lead on that issue.

The main point is if offered would she be willing to leave her senate seat for a less secure job like Secretary of State.

She has said though, that she has a long to do list to catch up from her lost time while on the campaign trail. As someone else mentioned above, she's going to have her senate seat as long as she wants it. While she doesn't have enough clout yet -- and yes, I think she's too young to be majority leader -- she still has a lot of time to work on her agenda, and maybe a future presidency whether it be 2012 or 2016.

Gotta love these rabid Hillary supporters.

I used to like her. But I am not enamored with her like some people...

This talk about running 4 and 8 years down the line. Talk about putting the carriage before the horse. You have no idea what the political environment will be like then.

And Hillary borrowing Bill's foreign policy team? No THANK YOU. From Somalia to North Korea to Bin Laden, a big hell no to any of this team returning to office.

What has Hillary done that made gay men so enthralled with her?

How do you figure?

She's rumored to be a lesbian which I think is cool. She definitely has some butch qualities.

Lincoln slept with his aides and that wasn't considered gay. I consider that gay.

So, I don't think Hillary would have been the first gay prez.

I agree, LL, Richardson is by far a better choice.

They're reporting that Bill is now her biggest liability in stopping her from taking this role. His paid speeches and promotions around the world will mean at some stage a possible conflict of interest.

Apparently Hillary's going to accept the position.

Big gamble for her, but a willingness to be bold and take chances is how big people have big successes.

Bill has always been one of her biggest assets and one of her biggest liabilities.

If they want to make it happen, it'll happen. Bill's "conflicts of interest" are connected to his foundation and the good work he does, mostly assisting Africa and the AIDS pandemic. It's not like he's making money off war, like the Bushes have.

His conflicts of interest are in his taking money from governments/industries that treat their workers like slaves.
It's a bad idea for Obama to be getting into bed with the Clintons.
I thought she wanted to stay in the Senate.

It surely will make Obamabots unhappy.

Must feel strange when the cult leader embraces the person you've all agreed to hate.

Obamabots......cult leader.... all agree to hate?.....that's a little too much baloney!

I'm not infatuated. He's not the be all and end all. We'll just have to wait and see.
I never hated Hillary and I think Barack is wise to pick her as SOS.

I'm probably being a Pollyana, but if Hillary and Obama are really concerned about improving the welfare of this country, they would make a great team.

During the campaign, there wasn't a great difference in their platforms and issues. They seem to want the same goals.

This country is in dire straits it would be awe inspiring to see politicians set aside their personal issues, differences and career goals to mend our wounds together.

Many do adore Bill Clinton, but almost as many despise him. He should not be an issue.
