When you think about the internal struggles that he and others are going through, it truly is sad. They are a contradiction of their own beliefs and they believe their God won't let them love (or act on it, at least).

And this is why I had to give up on organized religion. God made me in his image and likeness, gave me the capacity to give and receive love, but then forbids me from giving or receiving love or else I'm damned for all eternity?! Where the hell's the logic or mercy in that? Just seems sadistic to me.

I just hope the guy doesn't waste away too much of his life with this nonsense. I've talked to so many guys who reach their 60s and 70s regretting spending too many of their years with the horrible mindset this guy has. You can't get it back.
