Senator Warren calls for the Jailing of [Wall Street Bankers]

Re: Senator Warren calls for the Jailing of Hillary's campaign financiers

Selective racism and victim blaming.
Very effective for uniformed audiences. You need to do better.

"Selective" racism, Ben has long since achieved comprehensive racism.

Re: Senator Warren calls for the Jailing of Hillary's campaign financiers

You would need to know the specific crime charged.

It’s in the Bloomberg article linked in the opening post.

The timing is significant, because the statute of limitations on many financial crimes is 10 years. In her letter, Warren urges Horowitz, the Justice Department inspector general, to “act quickly to open an investigation” while there is still time to charge the entities that may have helped cause the crisis.

Re: Senator Warren calls for the Jailing of Hillary's campaign financiers

I don't know what crime they are suspected of. Most financial crimes have a relatively short statute of limitations; 4 years or less.

Because a real lawyer would know this.

Re: Senator Warren calls for the Jailing of Hillary's campaign financiers

Seems Mrs. Clintons friends on wall street may not be so safe afterall, even if their 'candidate of choice' wins.

Are you unwell? I'm serious. What is your point? Senator Elizabeth Warren is just that; a SENATOR. You know that "other" yet equal branch of government known as the legislature. If you actually had been a Bernie supporter, you'd be fully in favor of this, yet your Trumpisms betray your trolling.

As a Bernie supporter and donor, I want him to go back to the Senate and work with other progressives like Warren, Franken, Merkley, Klobuchar, Blumenthal, and Wyden. It is likely Democrats will retake the Senate and have 51 or 52 seats. Having progressives with 7 to 9 seats will keep the pressure on a potential Clinton Presidency to move further to the left than otherwise possible.

It annoys me to no end the people who think that politics is an all or nothing gambit. Politics is just like American football. In order to win, you need to move the ball downfield, 5 yards at a time. A big win, is a "nice pass" 20 or 25 yards down field. In each Presidency you only get one or two touchdowns per term if you're lucky. The goal is to keep plunging ahead step by step. The American political system is designed for very slow changes. That said, you do get bursts of movement from time-to-time. Take gay rights for example....since Stonewall us homos have been pushing for change year-by-year. Law by law. Ordinance by ordinance. Statute by statute. We look up and think "wow" look how far we've come! Yeah, well it took us nearly 50 years to get here!

Re: Senator Warren calls for the Jailing of Hillary's campaign financiers

A lot of anger towards bankers is misplaced. They were just doing their jobs, being greedy, like good plebs are taught. The housing boom was inflated by Bush's supply side economics and rape of the SEC and otheroversight bodies. Ratings agencies and auditing firms were allowed to lose objectivity going way back to Enron/Arthur Anderson.

It was predictable and will happen again... when an auditor loses its first big lawsuit against a third party, and threatens to burn down everyone with them, there will be a bailout. There cannot be a complete loss of confidence in raw financial data.

Re: Senator Warren calls for the Jailing of Hillary's campaign financiers

Bernie should retire while on top. Nothing worse than a dying senator clinging on to the illusion of power.

John McCain for example.

Bernie is old but Hillary is very old too. By the end of her first term she will be as old as sanders is now, if she wins, that is.

And having a grudge against a true progressive, not some wall street sell-out, pretty much sums up democrats problems this year. It will be a very costly election for democrats, an opportunity squandered.

Speaking of dying, you never hear me politicizing Hillary's cough? Or talk about how Bernie was a star athlete?

If Bernie wants the white house I do think he could win even approaching 80.

I dont believe that for a second. If Hillary needs to be 'kept in check' admits were fucked. So why would I waste my vote on a person like that?

Hillary has no cred with the liberal base.

If you want to spend the next 10, 20, 30 years playing footsies in the senate and getting nothing done- be my guest. That is how we got to have Clinton as the democrats candidate afterall.

You are missing the broader problem, American democracy doesn't work and pinning hopes on incremental change is a fools errand.

Neither do you!

Hillary Clinton lacks the personal principles necessary to carry out a progressive campaign, shes a dirty tainted candidate.

Re: Senator Warren calls for the Jailing of Hillary's campaign financiers

Politics as usual. Warren, to me at least, has a political compass that has more in common with Bernie than Hilary. It was a "WTF did she do that for?" moment when she threw her weight behind Mrs Clinton. Now having been tossed aside and not been offered the VP position, it's sour grapes and regrets. Elizabeth Warren, you lost credibility by not siding with the true progressive in the Dem nominations race, and opted to back the wall street stooge. Post reality butt hurt methinks.

Well said!

So you keep telling us day, after day.

Americans are not electing a saint.

Even the saintly Washington, and Jefferson owned a considerable retinue of slaves.

Well sport, it's the only democracy we got, so suck it up and deal with it. And yes, it does work. It's worked now for nearly 250 years without a coup, and only 1 civil war. America's system is ONLY about incremental change at the federal level. If that makes you piss your diaper (at least in a bad way) then you need to find another country to live in. I have 3 countries I can live in, and yet still choose to keep my American citizenship and main identity.

You're already jaded and bitter, so you should simply stop worrying about politics, and let the adults in the room deal with them. Obamacare took us PROGRESSIVES over 50+ years to pass. And yet, Obamacare is horribly flawed. It will need fixing, just as all of us admitted when it passed. There is no such thing as perfect legislation. It's all about refining laws and legislation further. It's slow and tedious work.

But hey, if you want to revolt, scream and shout, and tear the system down, go out and march. You sitting on your ass whining about it on a gay forum ain't going to change shit. Stop being a sniveling child, man up, and go do something if you feel strongly about something. But, you won't, you're an internet troll.

Hillary should be testifying on CEO's and Bankers behalf, she is their primary cheerleader.
