Serious decorating question

But it does look not as redneck as, for example, that other pic above... even if it's glossy redneck style: therefore, it qualifies as slightly "European"

The furniture is brand new.

"chair molding" to cover sheet rock seams is genius. Add points for using quarter round in the corners. I suck at taping and floating seams.

Yes. I’m going to paint over the wood. Only the bow window has wood trim. It was done when I had the window put in. All the rest of the trim in the house is painted. It’s original from 1945 so it’s solid wood trim and doors. I never liked the unpainted wood. No I wasn’t planning on painting the vinyl windows themselves.

Still, that's a lot of white vinyl trim. I'd try to find a white that matches that for the rest of the room trim. White will pull the room together and look good.

The colour of new flooring should be plenty for warming up the room.

My first impulse was an off-white, before I read all the other gentlemen suggesting the same thing.

But I think a different color is needed now. There is sand in that flooring. And your gray walls are not a color but a ground, so you should be able to get away with bridging the flooring and the wall scheme through a third color to tie.

You may not paint all trim a contrast to the walls. You indicated "no" to the chair rail, but you may want to experiment with keeping the doors and jambs white but using a sand color on the baseboards or chair rail or . . .

It may mean you change drapes to reinforce your third color (even though gray isn't so much a color.) You'd do well to tie the third color in by finding a throw or a patterned throw pillow that have white and sand in them.

Edit: Returning to the pic in the OP, I see you already have pillows doing that. To my eye, the multiple grays with black create too cold a visual. I know your furniture is new, but in a graphic software such as Opi or another suggested I'd toy with changing the color of the tables to add a touch lighter feeling. Maybe not blond furniture, but lighter than black.

Of course, it's to your taste, so it's fine now, but you asked for inputs, so inputting.

Surprisingly the greys are very warm in the room. I think if I had went for a lighter grey it would have felt cold. I am planning on replacing the tables, I found a nice mid-century modern coffee table in a dark oak. I’m getting tired of cleaning little kitty foot prints off the glass every day.

The everything beige or brown that I had going on was depressing me and I find this color much more soothing to my soul

I'm not sure, but I am guessing that a lighter shade of grey might be good or else a white or off white as a second choice.

That might be a good choice if you are bringing more natural wood into the room. It would definitely go well with the new flooring. Just make sure it's bronzy enough.

It wouldn't be the harsh contrast I believe white would be between the walls and flooring.

If you could post a larger pic with the contrast to dark gray, I think it would be easier to say. It might look like wrought iron if not warm enough brown.

I do wonder how pure white and bronze get along.

And I know what you mean about beige "blues." I worked in a factory where EVERYTHING was painted mushroom. I hated it. Dingy.

I've looked at your photos on different devices and the colours are slightly different on each one. Enough to be a bit frustrating. I can't be sure of what colours/shades I'm supposed to be seeing.
