Seth MacFarlane is really sucking right now

Now I don't hate Billy Crystal, but as funny as his earlier Oscar efforts were his schtick was getting kinda old, lol....Seth really is talented, and some day soon he might have the best chance to revive variety type shows with his own twisted sensibilities. Politically correct he'll never be... he's no hater but will playfully skew anyone, anytime. I love Mel Brooks, laughed uproariously watching clips today from the original film version of "The Producers" and " Blazing Saddles"...two hysterical, highly politically incorrect gems... Seth isthat type, plus he sings, dances, looks great and can melt butter just by his normal speaking voice. He probably tried too hard tonight, and a lot of it didn't work.... but damn I'm first in line to see any "Ted" sequel he does...which of course will NOT be nominated for any Oscars!

Oh,and just saw illgetbi's last comment and that I agree with...he's much more talented than his disappointing showing tonight and he should have done things with more of an irreverent twist.

Yes she sang near the beginning, Goldfinger, was pretty solid, and she looked very good.

Got a standing ovation.

Thanks! I just found a bad copy of her performance on youtube and I still loved it. She is the only person I have never seen live that I want to see...

My thoughts on the Oscars:

Copared to the all time worst hosts in Oscar history(James Franco and Anne Hathaway...and James was guilty of not even putting up an effort)Seth wasn't horrible. The Oscars have had a string of so so to downright awful choices... Seth didn't do great but who the fuck could? At least he did his all, throwing himself into everything...singing, dancing, everything including the kitchen sink, lol! A few bad jokes aside, don't think anyone would really have risen above the self-congratulatory nature of the Oscars.

I didn't get the chance to see the awards this year. I love them, I know the Oscar's are camp and self congratulatory but frankly that's what I've always loved about them. I miss my Oscar Night parties I used to throw.

As for Seth MacFarlane, he can suck me anytime, the guy turns me on like no-ones business.

Don't blame Seth. Blame the producers and the writers. The tone of the entire show was "We're all constipated." - Insomniac's dream.
Bring back Johnny Carson. (!)

I did not like his performance as a host but it was the first time I ever really looked at him and found him attractive.

I do know he is a HUGE supporter of gay rights and extremely liberal which is a huge plus (for me anyway)

Also I have read that he missed American Airlines flight number 11 by about 10 mins on 9/11/2001 because he was hungover from the night before and woke up a little late. As I am sure you know, if he did make that flight he would not be around today to host anything.

The reviews I read and heard all panned him, but I quite enjoyed the delayed telecast we get here. Perhaps after hearing the negativity I was not expecting much and so couldn't be let down, but I thought he did ok.

That boobs thing was brilliant, simply because I don't think anyone was expecting it.

I wondered if one of the many stars he has insulted on Family Guy would punch him...guess not:(

Again, I feel anyone that enjoys Family Guy Now [season 5 was when it peaked], is a complete moron or what my friend said last nite, brutish. There is the occasional gem of an episode but that is once a season. You even look back at 'classic' family guy and there are severe undertones of his homosexuality. The jab: "...like Fire Island after Labor Day, OVER!!!" is something only gays would ever understand as a joke.

James Franco's Oscar hosting will go down in the record books as one of the worst and unless he comes out, we should rightfully shun him.

more important how will his vision of The Flinstones change from what we love about the stone age family.

waiting for that.

I think he is doing a good job. He is really funny, I think alot of people are just prudes.

I think Seth is doing a great job. He's so handsome.

I thought he was pretty good, loved the Von Trapp/Nazi joke.

I love Seth, also I feel the same about the host, of course I do. :dead:

^These.

Aww, you guys are so hard on Seth. Catch tea.

But really, because I'm such a Family Guy fan, I WANTED to like him, almost forced myself to. But, I didn't have to force so much. I thought he was pretty solid. As I mentioned on another thread, he's hot, has a sexy voice and is funny.

I have been reading about this tonight and it seems there was some irony afoot due to the horrible sound staging. Adele went on record and said that her mic was turned down far too low [rehearsals have a purpose!] and she was therefore drowned out by the orchestra/band. This problem was expounded when the Les Mes troupe was on stage which was a hot mess.

Again, it was a foolish of the Academy to have the orchestra off location. Still, musically speaking, Dame Shirley brought down the house and I could give two shits about Barbara.

If anyone has a link to a good version of Bassey singing last night...please post it. I have been looking now three times...I really want to see her in a decent quality clip. I almost wish I had sat through the awards just to watch her now.
