Hi. I have a shaved (bald) head and am currently sporting a flavor saver/chin goatee with no moustache. My chin hair is salt and pepper, so I keep it trimmed so as not to look too old (the funny thing is my flavor saver is dark!). Should I grow a full goatee with moustache, keep just the flavor saver (a Howie Mandel), or just the chin goatee, or no facial hair at all (last resort). What is your preference as far as sexiness is concerned?

Just to clarify, you think a shaved head with no facial hair looks silly? As for your issue with head hair, definitely go shaved! BTW I am bald with thin hair, I just prefer to shave it. It's great and I think it looks sexy. Let me know your thoughts..

I hate facial hair i love to rub on a guy face and touch his hair.

As soon as your stach and goatee start turning salt and pepper and then onto grey its time to think about losing them. Had both for over 20 years, shaved them this month and now that I'm used to the new look it is a huge improvement.

Thanks to those of you who have posted your thoughts so far, and especially to those who have voted. I hope to hear from many more and please consider voting! Thank you! (*8*)

It depends because not everybody can pull off a certain look. We need a pic! My vote is shaved head and goatee but keep it trimmed.

I like shaved heads (or just short hair) and full goats with staches.

Ontariobear-Salt and Pepper/grey looks VERY sexy in facial hair.

I think it depends on your facial characteristics. For example, if you've got full lips or an exceptionally strong jawline, you can get by with less facial hair b/c your lips and/or jawline will draw attention to the lower third of your face, balancing the power of a bald/shaved head. If your lips are not so full or jawline not so square, then more hair (full goatee) will add weight to the lower third of your face.

The goal is to provide balance. Bald/shaved heads and above average sized foreheads benefit from a counter balance in your lower third. Once you've achieved that balance, people's attention will be unconsciously drawn to your most important feature... your eyes!

Try looking at other people. When the face is out of balance, your eyes are drawn to the weakest part. When the face looks balanced to you, you're drawn right into their eyes and that's where you wanna be looking.

Also, as said ^, keep all facial hair trimmed short - military short. It looks more youthful and kept. Stay on it about every 2-3 days depending on how fast your hair grows.

I keep my hair (on top of my head) cropped very short. When I grew my goatee about a year ago, I did it just for a change. I got some good advice for how to trim and care for it and I couldn't believe how many compliments it got - from all types of people. Even little old ladies (notorious for hating facial hair) remarked how much they liked it.

IMO, definitely don't go entirely clean shaven. Bald heads with nicely groomed goatees are very sexy, very masculine.

There is something incredibly sexy about a bald, shaved man. Very hot.

I have to say though, I'm not wild about that 'flavor savor' as it is called.

sorry.. what was the question?

Thanks so much for this great advice, luckoftheirish! Erin go bragh!

to be honest, I do different things with my facial hair depending on my moods.. just a small change can make a huge difference.

Oh... and thanks guys... everyone needs an ego boost. Even old, short, bald, pock-marked guys.

"unSoiled?"

I think we've coined a new phrase.

But you're right. (not about me, but thanks... )

Shape of the head is very important.

I shave my head for a lot of reasons, the biggest being that I've gone bald anyway and I look silly with that Jean Luc Picard thing.

But when I first shaved my head it was because a friend of mine was going in for chemo therapy and he decided to shave our heads together. It worked for me but not for him... he couldn't wait to grow his hair back. He was stunningly handsome, but he was tall and thin and his head wasn't shaped well at all. He just looked wrong with no hair.

I agree. Body type also affects your ability to pull off the shaved head/goatee look. It definitely looks better on a guy who's carrying some meat on his frame. Arms, legs, back, chest, shoulders, and ass bulk up faster and easier on short guys, so it's easier for us short guys (I'm 5'6") to look/be thicker.

I know your friend had the added struggle of chemo and fighting his disease, but even healthy people who are tall and thin have a tougher time pulling the SH/G look off.

...Just another reason that being short can have its advantages..|:gogirl:

I agree, it depends on the guy.

Like the bar I go to, for example..... there's one guy that comes in there (I swear it's Soilwork, but I know it's not........... dammit) who has a shaved head and just the chin hair. And he's gorgeous.

Then there's another guy that has the shaved head and a full goatee and it just doesn't look right on him.

So yeah, it depends on the face quite a bit. Like you said, some can pull it off, some can't.
