Ok I dunno if this is the right board but I guess this is involved with me finding a mate lol. So I'm not one of those guys with no hair on his chest/shoulders. I'm lucky enough that I don't have hair covering my back though lol.

Now I don't feel like shaving my entire chest/body so it's smooth...it just takes too much effort. Plus I don't know the benefits of shaving vs. waxing etc. It's not like I have a little hair...I have a fair amount...though not tooooo much.

My particular question is would it be worth it to shave my shoulders? I have hair on my shoulders/back of my neck and I can see how it can be unsightly. Would shaving be best? Waxing? I'd rather shave cause it'd be easier. I don't even know how I'd reach the back of my neck lol.

I just think I'd be more attractive...though I hate having another thing to add to grooming.

So any tips on taking care of shoulder/back of neck hair?

This stuff works like a charm

Agreed. Any hair removal cream is great plus they have a new Sensitive Nair that you can use ANYWHERE! haha love it.

Plus its kinda romantic that you're willing to do this, which is kinda an annoying inconvenience, to find someone. I'm sure you're not too bad off though, lots a guys like hair on their men so either way you should be fine.

don't worry about feeling more attractive, whats attractive to one guy might not be the same for another. i have a hairy neck and shoulders and i have my neck shaved when i get a hair cut and i used to try and shave my back and shoulders but it itches like hell so watch out. plus it grows back fast so you're probably going to have to do it every few days. for me, i love a hairy guy, all around.

how long does the nair stuff last? My hair grows pretty fast lol

I don't particularly mind the hair on my chest/abs ...that doesn't look too bad. It's the long hair on my shoulders that makes it a bit much I think.

Yeah if I was dating someone I wouldn't mind doing it for them. But in any case...personally I think I'll look better with my shirt off. Especially now that I'm going to the gym =D. Only reason I'm concerned is that I'm going to a water park/rollercoaster park on saturday hehe. It's not a huge deal cause I spent the whole summer with my beautiful hairy body lol...but I feel like I tend to go for guys slightly out of my league...and this might put me right in that category hehe.

Usually it last a few days like three with no grow back. But by fourth day its starting to come back, for me at least. So good thing its easy to do, just apply it, wait, and wipe it off.

First off... Don't Shave....some guys may not like it...but hey if they don't like you for all of you then they ain't worth having around....

Second...by shaving you're essentially saying you don't like yourself the way you are... that to me shows some self esteem issues...

and Third... If you do shave... and fail to keep up on it regularly... do you have any idea how horrible it is to get razor burn from kissing someone's neck? nobody likes sleeping next to a cactus...

hmm I don't agree. Just because some people like hair doesn't mean everyone should not shave.

If it makes him feel more attractive then why not? Its not something extreme like having plastic surgery you know. Following the logic of "you should find someone who loves "all" of you" then that person should love the fact that he wanted to shave to begin with, because that is a part of him.

uhm...
I cut my hair. I tweeze my eyebrows. (otherwise omg unibrow). I moisturize my skin. I wear clothes that flatter my body shape.

That doesn't mean I have low self-esteem lol.

It's called grooming yourself and making yourself look better. Low self-esteem would be thinking "I look ugly so what the fuck is the point of doing anything".

I'm just gonna do it for tomorrow I think...I don't really care when I'm wearing a shirt hehe...and that'll be the rest of the winter.

boy0boy....is nair smoother than shaving? Or is the end result the same? you've pretty much convinced me on the nair I think i'm gonna take a trip to cvs tonight lol

funny story

so I used the nair stuff yesterday but it didnt go on very evenly cause my hair was pretty long on the shoulders. so i got most of it but there were some patches left. my skin got a bit red so i decided to wait till the next day to finish it.

i went out yesterday night to a house party...i did NOT expect to get laid.

and coincidently I hooked up with the HOTTEST guy in the party...fuck he was beautiful. i was so nervous he would notice my shoulders lol but he turned the lights off before i undressed lolol. at least i think so...i was pretty drunk.

i think its funny cause of course i hook up with the hottest guy when i'm the least horny, not looking for anything, and of course try some new grooming technique. life is funny.

i'm thinking of trying waxing strips now...the area is not very large and its supposed to last like a month heh

Beware of getting in-grown hairs (and rashes associated with them) after using Nair and like products. Some people are more prone than others.

I've had terrible experiences with Nair. The cream is messy, smelly, and takes longer than just swiping the hair with a razor. I had patches too that didn't wipe off.

I shave every other week using Gillete Mach 3 and the brand shaving cream.

My ultimate goal is to get the laser surgery. It's more expensive but in the long run, it will pay off and you won't have to worry about body hair again.

Warning though: it smells terrible! But yeah it is at least not too terribly uncomfortable as I imagine other nair products might be.

As for waxing strips.... I find them terribly inconvenient! They come in small little strips that are good like the first time only maybe twice. So you go through lots and if you dont get all of them, you have to go over the same spot again.. plus to really get them good... it has to basically hurt! I mean first time is the most painful and not so bad afterwards but still pretty painful and area stays red for a while and sticky unless you use the remover liquid stuff.

Too much hassle for me. Razor would be good I just need to find a good body groomer kind. But till then nair is working great.

I guess I shouldn't have bought the no-touch extra strenght nair the first time lol...well I'll try waxing strips now...let's see how that goes...
