and not one man tried to help. all pieces of shit. and genius coworker in trying to pull her back was allowing the man to freely hit her. manager needs to be fired.

He is a horrible man, regardless of whether he was intoxicated.

I also admire McDonald's for prohibiting their employees for discussing the incident publicly. They have a right to control the perception of their restaurant and chain, and do consistently employ policies to protect their workers.

Also hope they compensate her for the trauma she endured.

He assaults two female workers and all he gets charged with is "simple battery". Any idea what that means?

I have a friend online named Google. According to him,

Google said:
The crime of Simple Battery or Misdemeanor Battery is defined under Section 784.03, Florida Statutes. In Florida, the term battery means: Any actual and intentional touching or striking of another person against that person's will (non-consensual), or. The intentional causing of bodily harm to another person.

I have no idea why they did not charge him with public intoxication or disorderly conduct, as the news account refers to "authorities suspect . . . ," but his act in touching her clothes and jerking her clearly qualifies as battery.

What other crimes did you observe him committing?

You mentioned "female workers," but I don't see what gender has to do with it.

McDonald's employees online are saying she will probably be fired. Their rules are she was not allowed to hit back. They think McDonald's is just waiting for things to die down before they drop her. She is already suspended.

Considering the average McDonald's employee, I'd not think their read on the situation is exactly corporate's.

I suspect they will not enforce the rule due to the publicity already blowing up.

She'll get some retraining and a position away from the counter for a while.

white privilege

Based upon the video, middle aged guy doesn't have much of a future in the boxing ring. Female employee, on the other hand, might be scouted by the MMA.

In Florida, someone who physically assaults another person without the assistance of a lethal weapon is charged with simple battery which is a misdemeanor. It's only a felony if the assault meets certain criteria, e.g. a repeat offense or the assault is against a public safety employee, a health care worker, etc. FL §784.03

He was charged with 2 counts- one for the counter worker and a second for kicking another employee.

In Florida, the charge is breach of peace. It will be interesting to see if they do tack on a disorderly intoxication charge, although in Florida that is a lesser charge than the battery charge.

I was proud of that young lady for standing her ground. More ass holes need to meet that kind of resistance. She didn't play the victim, how refreshing. She didn't need any of the guys to step in.

another horrible Florida story added to the long list of horrible Florida stories
