Shoes

My shoes are as dull/plain as one can get. I have a pair of brown Rockports for everyday wear, black lace-up dress shoes to wear with my suits, an old pair of tennis shoes for yardwork and a pair of sandals.

I don't buy shoes very often. A new pair generally lasts for 3-4 years.

HOWEVER!

Seeing a hot looking guy wearing open toed sandals in a Gay Bar is somewhat of a "turn off."

Okay, so you couldn't find anything to go with those tight jeans and tight Polo shirt you decided to wear flip-flops?

Amen!!! This is SO true!!!! I just hate sandals or any so-called shoe that exposes any part of your feet, period.

But to answer the question, I usually wear athletic shoes like some sort of Nike or Gucci or New Balance or Jordan, unless I'm at work----then I'll devote those 9 hours :( to a dress shoe: my favorites are my Cole Haan's (so comfortable), my Prada's, and my Maison Martin Margiela's.

i just got some black leather ankle high boots, that bleed a white wax and give the boots a very old-school euro look. i love them!

the next thing i need is a narrow sneaker that lies below the ankle, for summer and shorts. i already have boat shoes for that look, but id like a one-color sneaker too. i also wanna find a one-buckle type dress shoe.

Yes, and thank you for not coming bitching at me for my big clod hoppers accidently stepping on your ingrown toe nails for wearing open toed shoes at a Gay Bar.

Oooh! And besides that it's nasty.

I'll go home with a guy, even if I've been "free balling" all night and let him lick my ball bag, but I wouldn't think for a second to let some dude with a foot fetish to go anywhere near my feet if all that I've been wearing were flip flops all night. [-X

On the few and extremely rare occassions where I've worn open toed shoes out, then showered when I got home...I was shocked as the "dirt" that came off of my feet.

And you want to put you mouth where?

Does Prada have anything other than "slip on?" :D

I'm a barefoot kind of guy. When I'm not, I wear flip-flops or Vibram Five Fingers (picture below).

I own one pair of sneakers and one pair of dress shoes. I rarely use them.

LOL. Yea, they do---the have lace-up and they also have America's Cup, which are more athletic inspired....they even have the velcro (yes you read right----the velcro fasteners across the top of the shoe, like in kindergarden when you couldn't tie your laces) version of them....lol

No fucking loafers or slip ons they are ugh awful. And no damn flip fucking flops.
They got have laces and lots of boot holes and the treads should look like something on a fucking bright yellow 10' high earth moving loader rather shoe or sandal . They should be black or earth colors and not that Wal-Mart thug bs work boot crap.
They need to take you into the wholly swamp and back and maybe a steel toe to stomp the shit out of Catholic's from time to time.

I almost never wear them, though... if I can at all get away with it, I'm much more inclined to wear my doc martens ... I'll just be wearing my docs (though I've got them in both brown and black, so at least I can be wearing the appropriate shoe color for the pants)

If there is a stereotypical gayness to me it is in the amount and variety of clothing I own. I swear I could dress for two months without doing laundry once.

As far as shoes I had to highlight Loki's Doc Martens comment because I have owned the same pair for about 19 years now... the most comfortable shoe I own without a doubt. i have been through about five sets of laces.

Interesting side story: I served on Submarines and we use a chemical called Amine to clean the atmosphere underwater. Well that shit stinks and permeates everything you own. I bought these Doc Martens on my first visit to London in Piccadilly Circus. My clothing stank so i literally walked down the blocked getting dressed into some new duds and leaving the stinking clothes in the rubbish bins.

Now mine have the faux leather rubbed off and barely have a tread left but these are them.....

I love hiking shoes too they seem to fit every mold from every day to a little outdoorsy. Try Merrill for those:

Someone mentioned cowboy boots? I just got a pair of those since I landed in the midwest and I agree unless it is accepted where your at you look kinda dickish running around like John Wayne.

I love dark cordovan leather dress shoes but it is difficult to find ANY dress shoe that is remotely comfortable and stylish unless your willing to spend a couple hundred bucks.

But yeah if you are looking for relatively cheap that will fit many different outfits then go with some trail shoes.

Oh and another sexy pair I just bought for running outdoors are Adidas Kanadia Trail Runners in all black (I could only find a pick with greyish stripes for the adidas symbol)

JayBunny, don't get offended, but I saw this pic and right away thought of Travis and his thread here!

I'd spend a week rolling up pocket change to see either of you two wearing nothing but those shoes. :p

Hmm, I actually see some nice looking shoes on this website. I may have to order them online. Merci.

Considering your taste in shoes, and what you've described I thought you might like some of those. :)

The only tennis shoes I would wear are plain white and I accept all major credit cards. :D

Just show me where to swipe my card. :p

Athletic (particularly tennis) shoes are best for me since my soles are sensitive to pressure. Too bad I have to wear pantoffles, which causes me to develop calluses and clavuses --'

I'm not a shoe shopper type however; I usually stick to a pair of shoes for years until they break and I start panicking because I don't have time to buy a new pair...--'

This kind of bad shoe fit gets my goat. The toes are falling out. It looks stupid and damages the feet. They can't run or do anything.

Thank Pat for providing needed life giving resuscitation to this thread otherwise I would have never seen TexPatriots Commentary...

And yes I would be that pussy when it comes to shoes or clothes I have been goin bankrupt buying all the expensive winter clothes now that they are 50% to 80% off....

After leaving the city gave up on Church's and Gucci except for the driving loafer, Now it's Rockport deckshoes and NuBalance walking shoes; in winter Sorel light or heavy boots depending on snow pack.

Is any woman (and some confused guys) in high heels able to run?

I can run in high heels. It's a question of pointing with your toes rather than landing on your heels. Anyone who's been in marching band knows how to run like that.
