Should Celebrity Culture Be Something That Is Glorified ?

Jade Goody, came fourth in Big Brother, the nation took her to it's heart as she was dumb as fuck and the girl next door everybody loved.

Made millions selling every detail of her horrendous childhood, prozzie mum and her terrible love life.

Made the horrendous decision of going back on Celebrity Big Brother as a celeb, ruined career by showing the country she was a racist.

With her career over she managed to get a second fleeting bite at the cherry by dying in front of the cameras from cancer.

Let us make a couple things very clear.

One - People who are famous for being famous are not celebrities. Chris Crocker is not a celebrity, his only claims to fame are crying for attention, Britney, and taking dick raw. That's not a celeb, that's a whore(okay, porn star, but you get the point). Socialites are not celebrities - neither are club kids, James St. James excluded, but only slightly. I'm also going to go as far as saying reality TV stars(those made FROM reality TV, as opposed to those that came TO reality TV) are MOSTLY not celebrities. To prove this, quick, give me 5 people from the first Survivor that YOU remember, and that went on to do anything else not involving jail.

Two - Actors/Actresses only matter when they can act, and do act. If you're a fan of someone, you should have a better reason then "he's hot" or "she goes to all the hot parties"(I know i'm asking too much here, but i'm doing it anyway). Glorifying Paris Hilton for taking dick and doing a reality show - much like glorifying Zsa Zsa Gabor for slapping a cop or Nick Hogan for driving a Lamberwhatsit into a tree, or Kim K. for... taking dick and doing a reality show(some things never change) - tells me you, again, have no idea what a celeb is. You just know tabloids... which is nice if you wanna work for TMZ or the lower section of E!, but it's useless information otherwise.

With those things in mind, yes, I like some talented celebrities - Aaron Paul, Whoopi Goldberg, Theo Rossi, and Seth Green come to mind immediately. Doesn't mean I "lack real interests" - it means I have one more interest than you do.

It really doesn't matter who likes half the people placed in this thread. Weather Kim Kardashian or Paris Hilton are loved, hated (or all the in between) they are still Celebrities.

They are still recognized as a Celebrity and come under the category. It does not really matter what talent they possess because times have changed.
