Pffft, fuck to the no. People think that because their "idol" celebrities say and do shit on TV, that they can too and that that's how you behave in everyday life. When you try to tell these sheeple that that doesn't fly in society, they get all defensive and bitch you out. I never have government, social media, celebrities and other things tell me how to talk, behave and be like. Wake up, fuckers, think for yourselves and don't let TV teach you how to be or you will never have anything worthwhile and meaningful in life.

Don't give a rat's ass what they do

Celebrities are for people lacking real interests of their own, who then accept interests manufactured for them by businesses eager to sell.

I have never understood this either. Why would I give a f**k what any of these celebs do. I would be more interested in meeting some hot guy I see at the supermarket than any celeb. What really fractures me is why gay men have these obsessions with female celebs? If I do find a celeb attractive, i.e. Matthew Camp, it's simply because he is a hot gay guy and has nothing to do with being a celeb, he just happens to be in the public eye. The fascination with women by gay men has always baffled me.

A few years ago, I was stuck in the checkout lane, and I glanced at the covers of the celebrity gossip magazines. And I realized I didn't recognize a single name on them. "Sara Says It's Over Between Her And Michael!" "Gina Vows To Sondra: I WILL Get Andre Back," "SHOCKING! Antionio Seen With Blonde Bombshell!" They all sounded like vague soap opera plot pitches for a show I never watched.

If other people want to get involved in their lives, I guess it's no concern of mine. They probably think my life is frightfully dull, as well. :)

When people use words like "sheeple", and then tell people to think for themselves, I laugh because I see the irony clear as a sunny day.

Fact is, I do think for myself. That's why I don't idolize anything... or use sad buzzwords.

There are so many celebrities out there who are only rich and famous because they were born into it. They didn't earn fuck all. Take that cunt Paris Hilton for example. What has she ever done in her entire life besides party and act like a stupid whore? Nothing of value to society at all.
Meanwhile, there's truly deserving people who have made the world around them a much better place, and all they ever get is shit on.

I have no problem with anyone viewing Paris Hilton as a whore (or hate the others) I just don't like it when they use it against you to have cheap knocks across the forum.

Don't like them fine, just don't expect everybody else to be the same. There is no need to laugh at others mentality that causes more arguments In the forum and it's the usual same pack of hyenas as always. They can't leave a view on something without leaving remarks about the OP. Sadly, they get all butt-hurt when you respond. I think the mods can see this because they can see that the same few are up for trouble. Sadly, you stopped posting in HT because you were scorned for posting one thread.

I couldn't care less if you leave all the jokes you want about them.

The only thing worse than these "celebs" is the airheaded douche nozzles that clamour over them.

Celebrities are nothing special.
They are human too. They shit they eat and they poo too. Same as you ;)

Entertainment value. One can have loads of laughs over the antics of celebs. And sometimes their behaviors shed light on the errors with society's thinking as a whole. There's entertainment then there's entertainment. Some celebs entertain us with their acting/singing/sports prowess.... others with their stupidity. The latter tends to be free, just catch it on the news or in the tabloids.

But you don't mind being a pedo.

Not really.

But it's an end product of consumerism, and we've only got society to blame for its existence.

To borrow a phrase, 'not really'. There were celebrities long before there was consumerism. In fact, at one time, consumerism was an end product of celebrity.
