"If it's love, the Lord won't mind, 'cause there's enough hate in the world already" expresses my thought. But I believe ALL adoptive parents (single or couples) should be checked to make sure that love is the reason. Too many people adopt & then (much like Ellen G & her doggie tale) realize that they don't want the grief a child can sometimes offer. Every child desires someone who loves them - no matter what!

Yes, if someone (single, partnered, married) can offer a child a loving home then there shouldn't be any laws barring that.
