should i forgive him?

There is nothing wrong with forgiving someone for something they did. Forgiveness can be a wonderful thing. That doesn't mean you have to continue the relationship or forget what they did. A lot of guys will tell "innocent" lies in the beginning of a relationship. Especially if it started out as just a hook up. The problem comes in when the hook up blossoms into something more and they can't come clean about the lies. These were not just innocent lies he told. These were major gaffs. The age thing isn't that big of a deal to me, but the daughter being referred to as a sister. Wow. That's pretty low. These are the things you know about. Wonder what other whoppers you have yet to find out about.

If by forgive you mean to say "thank you for telling me the truth. I will overlook or forget about the lie." That's a very kind gesture on your part.

If you mean to forgive him and let him back into your life. That's a huge mistake. He has zero moral character. He's a liar and a low life.

As others have said. Forgive him if you want but don't let him back into your life. If you decide to get back together with him. Will you ever trust him? There will ALWAYS be some doubt in your mind. Relationships have to have trust in them. Without trust there can't be a relationship. Tell him you forgive him for his lies but you don't want anything more to do with him. Block his number and emails. Let him know that lying is a breach of trust and that you would never be able to trust him again. Whatever you do. Don't let him sweet talk his way back into your life. Cut him off before it gets any worse.

Steven.

I have to add that if the OP hadn't checked this guy's facebook he would never have known any better. His ex never came forward with the truth and would likely still be lying now.
