... that's here the question. I am totally hot about the bluray thing, but I am not shure if should get it. I mean, I could get a XBOX 360 (sold mine, total mistake) for 299€ or a PS3 for 599€. I will then need games, cables, remote totalling another 200€.

No, I don't have 599€ laying around my flat, but hey, it would be an investment for the future.

What would you take, the 360 or the ps3?
 
uh, where's the Wii in all of this? Those are selling like pancakes. It's the only system I would get of the three new ones. Every store has PS3s in stock now and they're having a hard time getting rid of them. LoL
 
I have both 360 and PS3. I've had the PS3 since mid December and have played it exactly 8 times. I agree with the newbie. Wait until it's actually worth it so you won't end up like me with a big hunk of 600 plus dollars basically, just sitting there.

If I had the money I would buy a 360. But then again, I wouldnt spend money on online gaming (why should I pay a monthly fee for that?), or downloadable content that should have been in the games to begin with, or a bunch of expensive accesories.

Sony treats the PS3 like the future of what gaming should be but so far it seems like the same but prettier looking. So I guess I'll wait for the future to come and see if they are right.
 
I have 360 and I like it. Good game selection as well. I will never own a PS3
 
out of the two, i'm planning on getting the 360. i have the wii right now satisfying me. the ps3 had a shot with me until more and more of its "exclusives" started moving to the 360, that sealed the ps3's fate.
 
The only reason right now that a PS3 would be worth it is if you have an HDTV and plan on using BluRay movies. The PS3 is pretty much the least expensive Blu Ray player out there.


Otherwise, as has been said, there's not point in it for games yet. There's just not enough games available yet.
 
I'd go with the Xbox 360; with Gears of War still popular online, Guitar Hero II out, and a handful of great games coming out at the end of this year, not to mention Halo 3, I think you'd have a great time with it. Xbox Live! is still the superior online gaming service, despite it not being free.

I hear a lot of good games are coming out with PS3.

XBOX 360 and PS3 will be getting GTA4.

I will go for the PS3. I know some people who know some people (you know the story) and will get a brand new PS3 for 499 euro, that's 200 euro cheaper then the recommandet price which is great. I want HDMI, HD movies (bluray) and like the some other features of the ps3.

I have the Wii and PS3...so far, they don't really have a lot of great games for them, including the 360...I would wait until closer to the Holidays when all the games will start coming out and you can make a better decision
 
I ended up picking up a PS3 today. It was totally unplanned, but so far, I'd say it was worth it. Got $100 trade in credit from my old PS2 towards it. For $499 for the 60 gig model, it was more than worth it. I think that is roughly similar to what you're paying for yours. So far, I'd say you'll enjoy it.

So far, from my use of the PS3, and also having a 360, the PS3 seems like more like a game console in it's operation, and the 360 seems more like a PC turned game console. It's hard to describe. The difference in the way the two operate is noticeable though.

I'm interested to hear your thoughts.
 
OK, I enjoyed playing the whole day "Resistance". My resume so far: I love the PS3. The graphics are great, I watched Casino Royal on BluRay and it looked great, the PS3 runs much much quieter then the 360 and looks fucking cool.

The only problem so far: the heat. I put it under the TV and removed it after some minutes, because the surrounding was getting way to hot. Now the PS3 is just near my TV, having more air to cool.

Hopefully, my "Motorstorm" will arrive tomorrow.

Damn, I love it.
 
im personally going to go for the PS3, but its not worth getting yet. first of all it is ridiculously priced. second of all it is way too powerful for the games currently released. I am going to wait until games come out that fully reach its potential
 
Nintendo Wii first of all, so i can play Metroid when it comes out, its also compatible with the DS which I own, then i will eventually get a PS3 when Final Fantasy 13 forces me to. Final Fantasy 10 was the reason i got a PS2, and final fantasy 7 was the first game I got for the original playstation, dont see why I should stop the trend.
