I think you look great either way. My personal preference is let the hair grow. Like you said about the dark hair on your head contrasting to your light, untanned skin, the chest hair does the same thing.

Do what makes you feel good about yourself. You will look sexy no matter what.

Personally I like the hair because I think it's sexy and natural. Shaved/waxed twinks are a dime-a-dozen. You have a very unique, exotic and almost magical look that really stands out. You should accentuate your assets and what makes you different and special.
