It's really not that big of a deal but yeah, people who collect all their phlem up and spit it in public are gross.

I spit in public but never go to that extreme.

I've heard some people cover one nostril and then blow with the other nostril to shoot their phlem and mucus out in public as well but I haven't seen this. LOL, that's taking it a bit far but making it illegal is too much.

I remember in high school, whenever we were outside in our sport lesson all the boys would be spitting on the grass, I would be in the corner with a horrified look on my face.

I had two friends on two separate occassions spitting on my driveway. They definitely learned right away that it is not acceptable at my house or anywhere else. Spitting into grass may be ok if I know I am not going to be walking on grass in the area.

What is so wrong with spitting into a handerchief and putting it back in the pocket or spitting into some kleenex and throw it into trash can or down the commode? (exasperated sigh)

If I blow my nose, it usualy results in nose-bleed, so I spit. Couldn't give a fuck if anyone finds it disgusting. And this crap about it being full of bacteria is moot point. It's on the pavement, which is already covered in bacteria.
