Just teach how to feel first and the rest sort itself out when ever the world is ready

I voted yes but with some issues asking to be addressed.

First is what goals do we want to gain from teaching children about LGBTQI?
Second is how will we teach children about LGBTQI?

I guess we need to have to answer those question in providing a gender fair and gender sensitive curriculum.

Unless wrong ( straight Bi and whatever hang around ) gay in the world ans on internet suggest just leave children alone and let them just have sex and the world keep their nose out

it might put a lot of people out of business what profit from the people who service the issues of those that no doubt do not want any connection with the people servicing the in their public life

there is nothing to teach ( children )<as if all are not already adults before they reach 10 just the adults what still full of it

It would be one thing to teach about gay HISTORY. But as far as teaching it in sex-ed, that part should be optional. I agree with including it in our history books, but as far as sexual education goes, if I were straight, I certainly wouldn't want to be forced to sit through it. I know I didn't like sex ed to begin with, so yeah, meh.

I would have loved to have learned something about homosexuality in sex ed, but all if it was mentioned, it was in passing, or some fucked up comment about a gay or assumed gay character in a movie we were watching. The thing is, that it is TABOO for whatever reason for teachers to even teach, and that needs to change, whether it be in a health class or history class.

If they are going to learn about sex, homosexuality is something they can afford to learn about as well.

There's nothing to teach children? That's the most ass-backwards thing I've ever heard, but I may be misinterpreting your post because it doesn't make much sense.

First is what goals do we want to gain from teaching children about LGBTQI?

Education. Information. RecognitionThe goal is to have more children who understand these things, which will lead to more acceptance and a few decades letter, more adults who accept these things. The goal is the same exact goal that led to Black History month and a curriculum that includes black American history.

Also, homosexuals have contributed to America and the world; the arts, medicine, science, that's a more balanced view against the biggest current voices on homosexuality, the church and the media. They're not exactly unbiased.

Second is how will we teach children about LGBTQI?

I don't consider high-school age students to be "children." There are some fighting for this to be taught at younger ages. I agree with that but I think high-school age will be more easily digested because Americans believe children' shouldn't know anything about anything so that'd be even harder to achieve.

where do you think adults come from that fill the internet sites!

it not gay many got issues with it sex

not all children are children and not all world grow up fed bullshit

Re: Should public schools teach about homosexualit

teaching about it is fine and would seem to be better incorporated into a course about sexuality - period. separating us out is separating us again, isolating us. our sexualities are tied to so many factors
ding

The man of few words gets to the nub, as usual. Like a Haiku you are Ding.

This is it...we need to teach sexuality, and teach it without guilt. Information is power and education is empowering. Regardless of the prevailing culture (local, state and national) sexuality, health, and birth control are all as important as math, science, english and history.
