My god. I watch the Amazing Race and Big Brother and each start at 8 on CBS Sunday. Well 60 Minutes has a tendency to run over and MY GOD why on earth do they employ Andy Rooney. His senile ass just prattels on about postage stamps and milk and not even in an amusing witty way. In an annoying complaining about completely insignificant things kind of way. Why is this man employed? Why does this job even exists? Can we not find 60 minutes of actual news a week? Really?

He annoys me.

So do his eyebrows.

He whines and calls attention to himself, while the attention should be brought to those huge beasts above his eyes. :)

HAHAHA postage stamps and milk!!

He connects with a large enough percentage of whatever demographic 60 Minutes draws. I agree, he's annoying. I usually clear the table and put dishes in the dishwasher while he's on.

HOLY HELL!! I agree! DO NOT GO OVER BIG BROTHER!! That drives me mad everytime that happens.

What is up with his eyebrows? Why does he have a computer on his desk? He is so damn old, would he even know how to turn it on?

He actually did a piece on that a while back: his superiors required him to get one and learn to use it. Word is, he's quite competent at what he uses it for.

I really wish people would stop confusing age with computer competence. As I posted in another thread today, I know a guy who's 85 and blogs,; he uses his computer for a lot of other things, too.

Dude I had to endure a piece about how he wants us to stop righting e-mail and resort back to letter writing (because waiting days and days is just more convenient I guess). I think it's safe to say he has an unnecessary dislike for technology which probably stems from a lack of familiarity.

Andy Rooney is an American Treasure....
60 Minutes is the finest progam of it's kind on TV.
And who the hell cares about Big Brother? that is garbage TV all the way around.

60 Minutes is for old ass people. Boring!

:rotflmao:

That piece got him so much publicity! It was actually repeated by news shows in entirety, so people wouldn't think the newsies were making it up.
Didn't he argue that snail mail was more personal and "genteel"?

60 Minutes is a good program, but it's been caught lying more than once -- makes me think, who will watch the watchers?

60 Minutes is for old ass people. Boring!

There you have it in a nutshell, ladies and gents -- the battle cry of the uneducated electorate.

Yeah...I really don't want your opinion on this show. All you've ever seen of it, apparently, is Andy Rooney, who is on for a little while at the end. When was the last time you watched any sort of news broadcast (and E!News doesn't count)?

Don't answer that. I don't want to know.

60 Minutes is usually a pretty good show. Andy Rooney...yeah, he's no fun anymore. It's sad.

Really? Andy Rooney wandering about a fruit market and nonsensically proclaiming "I'm not too familiar with a papaya." and "Why do they have tomatoes in with the fruit. Tomatoes are a vegetable I don't carry what people say!" is an American Treasure?

^Because, as a few people have said, he wasn't always so pointless. He used to be funny, he used to say interesting things. He just doesn't anymore.
The whole "american treasure" deal is probably why he'll never get fired. He used to be so good, nobody has the heart to let him go.
