We often read here comments from gay guys who declare with one fell swoop that ALL bi guys are just gay guys in denial, but what about the other way around? are there guys on here who came out as gay, and then realised they were still attracted to women? anyone? come forward! For the record, I don't identify as gay, but I know I am not completely straight :gogirl: (!). It is incredible that people you suppose would be understanding start up with the argument/reasoning that just because they are one way, that everyone else must be the same. Smacks of hypocrisy.

I have often found it funny that some gay men are insulting to bisexual men. Or they make broad statements like the one mentioned in the original post. I do believe that there are individuals that find both men and women attractive, and as far as I am concerned, there is nothing wrong with it. One thing I am confused about is the fascination some gay men have with straight men. Some of the gay men think that it's great to pursue straight men. But, if a straight man has sex with other men, wouldn't that make him bi, at the very least? I know that I kind of got off the original point, but there is my response.

Yeah, well, you're doing the exact same thing you're bitching about in reverse.

...all gay men...

That smacks of hypocrisy.

These same people who are quick to judge others are the same people that are quick to voice opinions that they shouldn't be judged by religious or conservative groups! Judge not, lest ye be judged...or something like that.
Also annoying, gay guys who think it's okay to hit on straight guys as Kaos has said above.

But yeah, I'm sick of all the guys who have a 'problem' thinking that guys can be bi and not gay. I say, those people are obviously hiding some uncertainty! let's turn the tables on them...maybe they are being extreme because they are afraid that they may have sexual feelings towards the opp. sex and THEY are AFRAID that THEY may be bi!!

Oh come on. Not all gay men think all bi guys are gay. Not by a long shot. What a lot of gay guys will say - because it's true - is that there are plenty of straight up gay men calling themselves Bi.

And we all know why that is.

I've read the original post 4 times now and still don't see where it says ...all gay men... Was it edited out?

It's in the thread title.

Yes, I see the thread title where he asks the question are you sick of the "ALL BI GUYS are just gay in denial" tag or label. Not once in the thread title or post does he say all gay men. My point is I don't see any hypocrisy because he never says in the thread that ALL GAY GUYS say all BI guys are actually gay and in denial. He just says some of them do and that is a fact, some do. :-)

Oh please, he's making a generalized statement while bitching about a generalized statement.

No he's not-----he never generalized "all gay men"----he simply said he can't understand why some gay people have the tendency to say that we bisexual men are "all gay and pretending to be bi" as if it is not humanly possible to have feelings for both sexes.

It's utterly absurd to think that "all bisexual men are in denial and they really are gay"...that's all the OP was saying...he never once made a generalized statement that ALL gay guys think like that---he was just saying the ones who do think like that are pre-judgmental......

He said it was hypocritical because alot of gay men are quick to make the "all bi guys are really gay" stereotype and discrimination, yet they want the rest of the world to accept them how they are....they demand that America has to 'put up' with their gay sexuality, yet they aren't willing to 'put up' with a bi guy's sexuality. For example, alot of gay people are racist or prejudice and discriminate on someone's religion/culture/skin color or whatever, yet they expect everyone to not discriminate on them, just because it's them. Shame on them....if anyone should know better than to discriminate against someone because of their differences, it should be gay people.....yet some of them continue to do it, as long as it's convenient for their selfish reasons. Hypocricy!!!

Well if you want to get all sphinctered up nitpicky about it - Of course he did, by the simple expedient of not qualifying his statement.

I don't need you to interpret for me, I understand him quite clearly.

It's utterly absurd to think that your twisty panties are about the actual issue, you're wanting to get all discombobulated because I pointed out that he made a generalized statement, complaining about a generalized statement, and that I didn't just stay silent and let you fawn all over this thread.

Perhaps we gay men are sick of all the Bi guys who say "gay men are this, gay men are that..." Blah blah blah ad nauseum.

I understand him quite clearly.

Well, ACT like it, and get your head out of your ass!!!! :didisay:

he made a generalized statement, complaining about a generalized statement, and that I didn't just stay silent and let you fawn all over this thread.

Are you THAT stupid that you don't listen????? Nothing about his statement was generalized....yet, on the other hand, all of your statements ARE....and I am not asking to "fawn all over this thread" as you put it----I am simply speaking facts and putting you in your place as needed. ..|

Perhaps we gay men are sick of all the Bi guys who say "gay men are this, gay men are that..." Blah blah blah ad nauseum.

See, there you go again, proof that your are contradicting yourself!!! You get on the OP complaining that he made a "generalized statement, complaining about a generalized statement," yet you are doing the exact same thing. You can't get out of this one buddy, why don't you stop now---before you dig yourself a deeper hole (in other words, you are talking in circles and you make no sense!).

That's the best you can come up with?

I'm disappointed.

LOL if you're going to edit your posts at least be honest enough to indicate it. I mean, that's just lying.

So much for your credibility.

I realize that someone with an anus puckered up so tight as yours is a hopeless case, but anyway you might want to go look up the definition of sarcasm.

I might say the same thing. To you, though.

Come on, Tx-beau, admit it - you're wrong on this one. No point in farting against thunder. It's there in black and white.

I like this thread. People CAN be bi imo, it does not make sense for SOME gays and SOME straights to criticize.

Woah! I never said all gay guys, edited my post or anything like that! I said there are gay guys who have brushed all bi guys with the denial brush. Their argument has to include all bi guys. After all, it can't be for some bi guys and not others.

My comment is not generalized. It is specific. It is directed to those gay guys who say that all bi guys are actually gay. There are many gay guys who accept some people are bi. I haven't mentioned them - I am not sick of them . Nor am I denying that there are guys who have declared themselves bi, later to realise that was kind of a stage in their discovery of their sexuality and that they now are exclusively interested in guys.

But anyway, back on to the topic:
Are there any guys out there that have been in the situation that I outlined in my original post? In particular, how was it coming out to your friends as gay, and then later adding women (back?) into the mix!?

I might say the same thing. To you, though.

Agreed. That's how I viewed it as well...
