My grandmother used to have the best of intentions, but then not plant. I've been guilty of that a couple of times, keeping them in pots for weeks or months before planting.

I have a favorite fast-food place. There is a guy that works the order register when he works (for a few months now). Back about the time he started, the place got new registers and one of the menu items they removed was a button for drink refills (the price for a refill always matched the price of a small drink which is currently $1.99). He doesn't know how to ring up a refill drink so he doesn't input anything. Plus he automatically gives me the 10% senior discount. Double win for me!

I do like to go at the work like a fiend to get it done quickly...but between back, ribs and other joints....I suddenly had this feeling that this might be it for me without having an actual gardener come in to take on a lot of the work.

Well, even though you live somewhat rural, sharecropping is an ancient practice. Pay a bit for a man or couple to help and pay part in crops. Hippies are not extinct. Is there a co-op in your area?

They aren't strangers after you meet them the first time.

But, on hired help, you always have to take some risk, but you do get help.
