  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Attention Signs you're getting old.

I’m having a hard time remembering how to spell a lot of words. Sometimes I’m so bad that autocorrect and spellcheck doesn’t even know what I’m trying to say.

I’m also forgetting names. 🤦🏻‍♂️

It might be time to reconsider the multi-vitamin. Recent studies (notably National Cancer Institute and National Institutes of Health in the US) suggest there is no benefit, and possibly a tiny increase in mortality, in healthy adults taking a multivitamin. Just eat a reasonably balanced diet, and you will get all the vitamins you need. The role of vitamins in a daily diet is widely misunderstood. More is not better, as they serve as catalysts to metabolic processes, and when a sufficient amount is available, the extra does no good.
Thanks for the tip. I kind of just started on them during periods I'm cutting calories/eating less in general, but I may look into the matter further :).

But then, there was an Alzheimer's specialist from one of the local hospitals being interviewed on local news a few months ago. One thing he said, is that among a list of others, taking a multi-vitamin every day should be included as part of the regimen to reduce your chances of dementia. So, who knows?

We are just ditching our Bell landline business service this week because we have been paying some hundreds of dollars a month extra so that I could pick up a receiver (old school) to talk to callers)

We no longer get more than 3 calls a day on the landline. Everything else is by text, email ot by cell.

This will save me about $4k per year.

But I Love to hold a receiver.

It is so hard to say, as there have been so few studies. There are a few studies which suggest there may be a benefit in slowing decline of cognition, especially in those with cardiovascular disease, but the data is limited. Hopefully there will be more studies in the future,

Even when I do remember I can just say I forgot and everyone believes me.

You campaign for President of the United States by talking about the size of a dead professional golfer's penis.
